I've visited Mexicali Brews a few times for lunch since it's conveniently located on 22. Each time I've gone, the service has been great and the food is delicious. They make a mean margarita pitcher/solos and it hits the spot when you need a little liquid mood lift. They have a nice amount of vegetarian options as well, so there's a variety to pick from off of their menu. I would love for them to eventually add more gf options as well. Their house rice always hits the spot and definitely brings me the comfort of meals I had growing up. The space is a decent size and can easily accommodate visitors during lunch hours, though I imagine it gets fairly packed once happy hour hits.

Sometimes, my family & I love eating here. We were here for early dinner tonight & as a customer, I didn’t like experiencing a young waiter was like “avoiding” me when he doesn’t understand I wasn’t looking at him, I was only looking at the Guy Fieri show on TV, end of story. Another male worker randomly said something about me that isn’t true at all to the college male student who’s a waiter here & I didn’t like that at all tonight. For their information, it isn’t very nice to judge a woman when you don’t know her. The college male who’s a waiter here isn’t my type to be my boyfriend/fiancé & husband because he’s younger than me & that’s not my preference at all. Again I wasn’t even looking at him & he’s being such a big jerk for saying to another worker things about me that isn’t true at all. I didn’t say or do anything wrong to him, duh?

Mexicali brews is definitely a spot worth visiting once. I wasn’t a big fan of the salsa there was nothing special about it. The queso chorizo dip on the other hand was absolutely amazing, I highly recommend that.There’s a lot of unique taco choices on the menu.This time around, I personally ordered the steak fajitas. it was worth every bit of the price. The size of the portion was absolutely massive.My table got a pitcher of margarita it was good, and a great way to save a few dollars.Unfortunately, my main complaint is the service was lacking. We waited a long time to be greeted, and have our orders taken. After the food came out the waiter didn’t come over to our table to check on us until we were ready for the check.A lot of space downstairs with a live band on some nights, and nice area to sit outside in the warmer months which is a plus.Worth checking out, and I’ll definitely be back.

We had great fajitas, my wives had the steak and I had BBQ chicken. The service was excellent and friendly.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. the food is mediocre at best. The queso tasted like raw flour and was gritty. There was no seasoning or spice to it. My husband has steak fajitas which has a tomato sauce mixed in with the meat. he said it was ok, but not what he expected for steak fajitas ( it was stew like). I had the veggie enchiladas. They veggies were fresh but no seasoning and super bland. The prices for non specials are super reasonable, and had a taco menu as well.
