Not bad tacos but $8 for a fish taco?! What happened to 3 tacos for $10-12? I miss the street tacos in jersey city... this spots not worth the extra $

Salads are large enough to feed several people. Tacos are tasty. Restaurant is small and can get noisy.

Wifey and I have been talking about going to Fat Fish Taco for eight years - since they opened - but we FINALLY made it last night. And we. Both agreed we were idiots for waiting so long. This place reminded both of us of being in a Jersey shore restaurant - pleasing and simple decor, friendly people, and good food. They were mostly filled when we got there, but we were seated immediately and started looking over the menu. We opened our wine (yep, it's BYOB) and they brought us some glasses. It was pretty tough deciding what to have. First we considered an appetizer and a couple tacos each, but then the table next to us got their nachos and we decided on those and one taco each. We ordered the nachos with chicken, Wifey got the Baja taco and I had the Blackened Sole taco. Man...it was all good. Kudos to the owner, Steve, and the wait staff. The tacos were delicious and everything tasted so fresh. The nachos were great too, though I would have liked more chicken on them. The chips tasted fresh and everything on top was just amazing. We finished off the evening with a slice of Key Lime pie with two spoons. It's not a stretch to say this is the best Key Lime pie I've ever eaten...anywhere. Could not have asked for a better meal...as Wifey said, it was an "Unexpected Delight. Took us 8 years to finally come here...won't be 8 years til our next visit, that's for sure. Worth every penny.

The best fish tacos in Essex County bar none! The service equally great. It’s a little jewel in the area that we are grateful for.

Tacos are the bomb, BUT we were worried about getting anything else, and rightly so. I ordered two Baja burritos, one Blackened burrito (each $17) and a side order of bang bang shrimp ($7.7). Take a look at the pics. In the burrito, where is the fish? lol And what about that four pieces of shrimp doused in an overpriced sauce? Super disappointed. I used to praise the place all the time, now I doubt I will do that.

Really good food, but the sound level is deafening, which makes enjoying a meal here difficult to do.

The food was great smiler to taco places around her but the thing that made this place stand out was the Costumer service. I was servers by a nice young man by the name of conner or like Coby something with a C not important he is what got this place 5 stars. The ambiance was nice too. I will be coming back for sure. :) forgot to take pics :(

Fresh food and amazing staff. We were looking for a new spot for some street food (tacos) and we were half we tried this place. Warm welcome when we came in we ordered the Beef Nachos they were stacked high and the beef very tender. For the mains a spicy shrimp and buttermilk chicken taco all were amazing as you can see by the pictures. We had homemade key lime pie and bread pudding for dessert and they did not disappoint. We spoke to the owner a very nice man and he comes up with weekly specials posted on Instagram. Place is also BYOB. We will be backParking: Parking in the rear

Lovely small place. The colors are white and fresh. Very inviting place. The service was very friendly. They have tacos (large one), bowls, burritos. Nice menu. The food came out quick and it was great. Everything was fresh and appetizing. If I lived closer -- I would go often.

Incredibly delicious tacos! Don't expect only the usual Mexican fare, although they have that too. The chef and owner, Steve Benyo, creates tacos with a great array of diverse flavors. Example: The Fried Chicken Taco is a spicy white meat chicken, served with a delicious roasted corn salsa, and topped with what tasted like a cilantro/lime crema. It was out of this world! Similarly, the Bang Bang Shrimp tacos from the everyday menu, shown half eaten in the photo, are absolutely delicious. The everyday menu has many great offerings, but the specials are where Steve gets to show his creativity and talent, and that's where this restaurant really shines.

Very tasty, hit the spot tbh. I was in the mood for seafood tacos and happened to come on a Tuesday when they have their taco Tuesday deal of free rice and beans with an order of 2 tacos. I tried the spicy shrimp and the blackened fish. Both soooo yummy although I definitely preferred the shrimp. They were a little pricey at about $9 a taco but they were also on the larger side. Honestly not bad for the area. Will probably come again
