The fish is always fresh and the sushi is rolled to perfection. Creative special rolls and great kitchen entrees. Hidden gem, best sushi in North Jersey. Neo and his wife are very friendly and they do catering with a sushi chef included!

I ordered an assorted sushi dinner and the tuna was absolutely unchewable. The color was fine but I couldn't bite through it no matter how hard I tried. Absolutely disgusting. I didn't know sushi could be this bad. These sushi "chefs" should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm 72 years old and have been eating sushi for 60 years of my life and pretty much liked or loved every restaurant I've ever been to, but THIS place ranks rock bottom on my list. Half the sushi on my takeout plate was wholly inedible. It was chewy, rubbery, and tasteless. A total waste of my time and money. I beg you to never to order from Ocha.

I very rarely eat in person dining here, no particular reason why , I just seem to order takeout with them the majority of the time. I have eaten in house though. Food is always consistently good. Always hot when I get home. Never once have they made a mistake on my order. One time I went to order via DoorDash for delivery and the restaurant actually called me because ordering through DoorDash was twice the price as ordering direct with them. I think that's great customer service if you ask me.

Ordered the kani salad as an appetizer, but it was more cucumber than kani. Also had the shrimp shumai, which was OK. For our entrees, had a spicy tuna roll which had a good amount of tempura crunch which I liked. And snow mountain was very yummy. Would come back with Groupon again.

I'm really sad to say my dining experience left me so disappointed that I am writing my first Google review ever. I dined at Ocha several times about 3-4 years ago and decided to come back with family since I was in the area. That was a mistake...1- Fish quality. I'm a frequent sushi-eater (ranging from local spots to high-end places), and I have never been served such a poor cut of toro before. My bite was so unpleasant in taste and texture that I could not finish it.2- Roll quality. Large selection of rolls, but you'll be hard-pressed to find one without "filler" (aka. tempura crunch). Fish taste is covered by a variety of sauces. Avocado must be pre-cut because it was browned, and it ruined the taste of the rolls. Pro: good rice:fish ratio.3- Cleanliness. Table was not cleaned from previous guests. Dinnerware was filled with fingerprints and some type of grime I assume is from the cleaning product/machine?4- Understaffed. Only one waitress for the entire restaurant who was responsible for answering phones, organizing pick-up orders, cleaning, and taking care of seated guests. She was very pleasant, but obviously overwhelmed.Overall, my family and I did not finish our $100+ meal and left feeling very uneasy about what we had just consumed. As is, I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will not be returning. It was very sad to see given my positive experiences in years past.

Ocha has been around for a long time, and even though it's relatively close-by I've never been there. Recently though I came across a Groupon deal I couldn't pass up, so I decided to give them a try. I was glad I did. I was initially skeptical when I got there because it was almost 6pm and the restaurant was completely empty, but within 30 minutes almost every booth was filled. The service was beyond friendly. They even pointed out that we could order more because we still had money left on the coupon we purchased; something we didn't realize. A couple of the stand-out items we ordered included the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice, the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Sweet Potato Tempura Roll. We really liked that the tempura in the rolls was fried to order. There's nothing worse than greasy, cold tempura that was made earlier in bulk (something too many sushi bars do). The parking is a bit tough since it's strictly street parking and there are several other restaurants located nearby, but if you're willing to loop the block once or twice Ocha is definitely worth trying.
