I ordered ribs with candied yams, potato salad, instead got collards greens. Food sat on counter while one the gentleman was on the phone (braids , glasses) was on the phone. Bf ordered the j*** chicken, rice and peas cabbage and plantains...portions were small(received 2 piece of plantains and the cabbage was a little spoonful) Food was cold by the time we got home. The money I paid the should have accompanied the price, i paid wait (even though I called in because they were not accepting online order,) by the time I left my food was cold.

Found this place online, I'm very familiar with the location of the place, although I relocated and now live in the south jersey area, so I drove an hour and fourth mins to get there. It appeared that was a one man show, the same gentleman that seated my guest and I also served took our order and served us, after being there for about 30 mins another gentleman came out, we'll I'll just cut to the chase.. attitude from our waiter after he forgot to bring two items we ordered, my guest did not like her dish, ate none of it, then they brought out something else, again my guest was not at all happy, I tasted it and I agreed with her, it was awful, no taste, and absent of any flavor. Then when I received the check, they attempted to charge me for the un eaten meal. It was a bad experience all around, the young lady that came out gave attitude as well.. I will never go back to the place again.

Someone at the barbershop spoke of this place, how good the food was. My family and I dined this past Sunday and the food was amazing. The place is spectacular. We look forward to coming back and visit. We recommend this place to many.
Initially I was hesitate about this restaurant, because other "soul food" restaurants are not worth coming back. UNTIL "Wright Kind of Soul" was recommended to me and my family. Everything we ordered thus far is excellent, but the red snapper. The flavor is nice but not enough meat. Unfortunately I won't order red snapper again. Cornbread is great with or without the syrup or honey not sure which is used. Smothered turkey wings, turkey chops, sticky wings, spicy wings, mac & cheese, candied yams, and peach cobbler (only thing I think the peaches can be cooked longer and more dough added). Hope more cake desserts to come on the menu. Ambience is quaint and it is very clean, bathroom is sanitized which is a plus. I can go on and on about their good food. Just know my family/friends will continue to patronize them. Keep up the heart and soul into the food.Kid-friendliness: Menu have kid food options.Wheelchair accessibility: Business is on street level.

My wife ordered take out I asked her to order smothered turkey wings with Mac and cheese and collard greens with cornbread and also yams. When I opened the platter the turkey wings had no gravy on them and they looked raw like it was boiled for 10 minutes and thrown into the package. Since this was my first time getting food out there for takeout I will never dine in great way to get new costumers. I couldn't believe I paid $60 for raw turkey wings.

I finally made it to Wright Kind of Soul and am kicking myself for waiting this long. My family and I enjoyed EVERYTHING that we ordered. The fried shrimp appetizer was on point crispy. The meals were full of flavor. But the cornbread was the star for me. I've found my new go to restaurant.

Let me start out by saying, I’m in love with this restaurant. On top of the food being delicious- the hospitality is Amazing- the owners are the best I have ever came in contact with. Even they had a private wedding party going on- they still reserved a table for me and my girlfriends and not one time did they ignored us- very attentive -food was on time - oh did I say delicious again ??The staff spent time greeting us an attending to us. I can’t wait to return and bring more of my family and friends. Did mention this was my fourth time eating- can’t get enough!! Wishing them all the success ????

The other Owner, if I'm not mistaken named, "Andre" was also thoughtful and provided my grandson with a notepad and writing utensils to keep him busy while dining.
