Had to get out to Donkey’s cuz I am a big Bourdain fan. Did not disappoint. Delicious, enormous sandwich. Steak slices were juicy and the seasoned grill leant a great flavor to everything. Bread was super fresh. Service was timely for how insanely busy it was (line out the door).

Definitely not the best Cheesesteak in the Philly area. It’s not even a Philly. It is, however, delicious and worth a visit. I’ll come back when I have some more time and have a beer and eat a little more slowly.

Donkey's in Camden! Don't forget your bullet proof vest!

I like what I wrote to Vinny I had to drop it here...

Ok so here it goes... This place is in Shady Central aka Camden. It's about 80 years old inside with that great hole in the wall vibe as there is a bar. Some Eagles memorabilia and pictures of celebrities. The pace is fast and furious as the servers run back and forth serving everyone and cleaning tables. It's organized chaos. Cheesesteaks are the order of the day with the grill filled with shaved ribeye and onions. They're served on a oversized poppy seeded hard roll with choices of cheese and other options. 15 bucks you pay for your food up front cash or card. Seasoned shoestring French fries 5 bucks small and 7 bucks large and they're meh alright. The moment of truth... I find that the structure of the hard roll is overwhelmed by the sheer volume of meat (it's a lot) and the juices produced by the onions with the meat. After a while the roll gets saturated and starts to disintegrate. A hearty baguette would be more suited for such a sandwich. I found the meat to be on the salty side but far from dried out and the onions were nicely caramelized. It was good and it's an interesting spot to visit but there are other places in this state that do a very nice job so you aren't missing out on anything and it's a trek to get there from North Jersey.

Most Philly cheesesteak places use the generic bread, but this place uses quality poppy-seed rolls. The atmosphere is cozy and nice. You feel like a local, and the food is amazing. :) friendly service, too!

Was kinda hesitant walking in (I was meeting ppl here *not a bar person*) However I'm glad I stayed and enjoyed the awesome steak sandwich, seasoned wings, and onion rings... oh and the cherry soda! The sandwich was great and enough for two ppl! It's not your typical cheese steak but the bread and onions were spot on!!!The wings were extra crispy and not too big. I would definitely return
