A "Must" when in Cape May. Unlike the "More" Expensive and "Highly Crowded" Restaurants in Cape May, the Harbor View Restaurant provides Outstanding Service, Affordable Prices, Delicious Food, and Water Views. Might be closed for the Fall. Enjoy!!

We had been previously and returned not to be disappointed. Friendly and courteous staff. Cleanest restroom in a restaurant that I have seen in years. Seated in dining room with water view. Hurricane is good but a tad weak. Hubby had fried oysters. I had fra Diablo. Someone knows how to cook this in the kitchen. Excellent sauce and well cooked seafood. Pass on the NJ clam chowder. Milky broth with little to no clams. overall recommended. We will return.

Stay away: Serious health and sanitation concerns here. Open yourself up for getting attacked by several seagulls while seated at your table as they walk on your plates/table and ravage your food! I was here with a relative and what a stressful experience it turned out to be. Server, named Brandon, did not sanitize the table after the attack by the gulls; he cleared some glasses and left my plate of food on this filthy table. P.S. The wait time: over 30 minutes even though there were very few other customers. When I asked to speak with the owner after he was so appallingly rude, he introduced the manager as "The owner"?! The manager was equally rude and callous and made no apologies or offers to adjust the bill. She could not have cared less and expressed that. She told us to "expect this at the shore" ; I grew up at the shore and no respected establishment has ever had this happen and this management has the gall to claim that it is expected. (This may happen at the beach, but not acceptable at a food establishment where there are health and safety regulations that need to be upheld). I paid for a Filet and burger that were tough, overcooked and consumed by seagulls on top of our table; I wonder if the gulls were able to chew it?! There is a need for this to be looked into, and some serious precautions put in place to deter the further attacks of seagulls on people who are then charged for food contaminated by gulls. The bathroom is filthy and smells like urine. So many food establishments with excellent food, service and views: this place is worth passing by... .

First, the good parts: The service was a little slow, but the server was very efficient, courteous and had great personality. The view, as we were seated in the open uncovered space, was very gorgeous. Second, the not so good parts: The food was really mediocre and bland. There were three in our company - one had fish and chips that seriously were something you might expect from a less notable establishment. The fish pieces were oval shaped, flat and stiff, and did not appear fresh at all. The second in our party had some sort of rib sandwich that really looked out of place on the menu. The third (the author) had the fried clam strips, that were fairly tasty, but few in quantity and heavily (over) breaded. Otherwise and overall we had a pleasant time.

We were a group of 6 adults. We have all been to the Harbor View and couldn't wait to eat there again. We were seated at the outside deck on a Sunday evening. We all ordered something different. We were all equally disappointed. The food was cold and overcooked. The seafood boil was missing the corn on the cob an the potatoes. The London broil sandwich was so dry you could crack the meat on the table and it would break. The fried clams were all breading, no clams, etc. So disappointed. Probably wouldn't go back again.
Food was just ok service was great but food takes way too long to be delivered. Also waited a long time to be seated because band was there and people were not leaving i noticed they were just drinking.

We sat at the outside bar quite a while before our drink order was taken. We even asked 2 times as we saw others come in after us getting served. We finally realize they were catering to "regulars" which was disappointing to others waiting to be served. They seemed to be inconvenienced serving "outsiders".

Lovely venue with apathetic and horrible service. Watched as no less than 4 tables who arrived after us ate their meals and paid their checks. After several inquires into the status of our meals with no good explanation except “ they are busy” , we left. No offer to adjust our check. Go elsewhere.
