Walked over for breakfast on a weekday. Maybe only two tables had guests. We probably stood in the foyer 5min before a staff member came and acknowledged us. Didn’t set the tone off right. Once seated our older woman server didn’t seem too happy to be at work which unfortunately continued throughout the meal. Just very short and curt almost annoyed when we had simple questions about the food. The “latte” I ordered- just don’t. Pretty sure I received a black coffee with whip cream on top 🤦🏼‍♀️ Then after a runner delivered the food, our server seemed to disappear and by disappear I mean to the extent that my husband had to get up and go look around for her to inquire on getting our bill. Although the food was good, the vibe and overall experience on this day was not.

We were told there was a 20 minute wait. After 40 minutes ny husband checked and our name had been crossed off like we had been seated. After we were seated it took 10 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. 10 minutes later our drinks came. 20 minutes after that our food came. My pancakes and bacon were cold, flavorless, and looked nothing like other pictures posted on this site. Other tables that were seated after us received their meal before us. Any extras like Canadian maple syrup cost extra. The syrup they bring is in a tiny container and was not enough to cover the pancakes to try and give them some flavor. This restaurant choice was a bad mistake on my part considering there are others in the area with great food and service.

Pancakes are tough and not very tasty. Prices are expensive for what you get. Upcharges for small things. It is definitely Cash only, but that is fine (it's better for businesses). It gets 2 stars because the servers were very kind. The decor is nice, but they should spend more time working on the food.

The food is good. But there is a lot of dishonesty in the menu. I ordered a breakfast combo. The menu indicates it comes with “your choice of pancakes.” Nowhere on the menu was I warned of the $6.50 up charge for daring to ask for something other than plain pancakes. And then a $2.50 upcharge for Cooper sharp instead of “regular” American cheese. I assume since it’s in Cape May, management knows they will make money because first timers will go. And then not go back. That’s my plan. But there isn’t a shortage of first timers in Cape May.

Best pancakes anywhere!

Breakfast was good . Service was slow. Good healthy portion sizes. Freshly squeezed OJ left much to desire.

Great place. Go every year. Menus a little pricey. Cash only. They do have an atm in their building.

One of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. First they told us to go wait outside in the pouring rain when we were the only ones waiting for a table. Then only half of our food was brought out and we told the staff who brought it out and he just said okay and left. Leaving our child without the breakfast he wanted. Our waiter never once came out and checked on us. After over 20 minutes of trying to talk to multiple staff and even the owner they didn’t care. They tried to make some excuse that it was the kitchens fault but they still never brought out the rest of our food. Then as we were leaving they tried to bring out the food and tried to make us pay for it. Absolutely never recommend that shithole of a place.

As a Brazilian, from Rio as well, I recommend.
the food tastes fantastic, well done to feel like home, the place is clean and well served, service was done in both English and Portuguese, to facilitate both clientele, my kids loved the food, the vibe is wonderful, we've arrived around sunset and the place looks gorgeous. Kudos the the crew, best of luck and all success.

I came to dock Mikes with low expectations. I tend to be a slave to google reviews - if a place is under 4 stars I just won’t go. Regardless, we decided to give it a shot. Ordered the banana cinnamon pancakes and the corned beef hash. The corned beef hash was fresh and seemed legitimately homemade, and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. I’m not a huge fan of pancakes, but they were easily in the top 5. The cinnamon and banana reminded of bananas foster. We’ll be back 5/5
