This place has major potential if only the food was good, I go out to eat a lot and I'm a critic so don't get to offended, place is beautiful but fire chef. Salmon overcooked, French fries cold, clam chowder didn't like, the hostess didn't ask us how everything was and thats important.

They tried to accommodate gluten safe, I definitely got sick, wouldn’t suggest for allergy. Food was great, though. Service great! DRINKS? Our group had a great time.

Great food and ambiance and views. Even though it was raining they had a nice view of the marina and seagulls flying. Server Nicole was awesome and very attentive to our needs. We were seated upstairs right away great service!

My husband and I wanted to be outside on this unexpectedly beautiful day in November. We stopped at Harbor View for the first time and sat outside. We ordered the calamari and clam casino for apps, and both were delicious. The calamari was cooked perfectly, not overdone and rubbery. We liked how the whole clam was prepared in the clam casino. Our lunch, salmon salad, and linguine and clams were also delicious. The salmon had a crisp bark that was flavorful. The manager, Jackie, was very friendly. She showed us the inside, and the views are spectacular! Our server, Nikko, was wonderful. We had a great experience, and we will be back.

This was not our first time dining at the Harbor View but it will be our last time. We had friends from out of town ask where they could get good seafood. Harbor View was my first thought. They have a special needs child who is an extremely selective eater so they brought his lunch with them (hotdog and yogurt). While waiting for our appetizers, mom gave him his hotdog. At that time the hostess came to our table and said "we do not permit outside food to be brought in." Our friends apologized and asked if they wanted them to pack up the food. The hostess responded "no, but when you visit in the future you will not be permitted to bring in outside food". No worries ma'am, we will NOT be returning to this establishment. Don't tell me it's a health code violation to bring in outside food. We AREN'T talking about food that is served by the restaurant. Food served by a restaurant must be prepared at the restaurant so all of the health codes can be monitored by the city.We are talking about a customer bringing in outside foods and this restaurant has a POLICY that you can not bring in outside food . If this was an infant or toddler, there would be no issues with outside food being brought into the restaurant. Special needs children should be treated the same as toddlers. My husband had the conch fritters and she-crab soup and he loved them both. I had fried pickles and a Caesar Salad which were both very good. Our friends had fish and chips and the lobster roll. We all had drinks from the bar. It's a shame that the hostess and waitress kept us from having an awesome experience.

Last night we had dinner at Harbor View for the first time. We almost changed our minds after seeing the yelp score. I'm glad we didn't ! First I have to give an a++ to our server Laura. She was a pleasure and made our first visit perfect! With all the tables she was serving she always checked on us to see if we needed anything ! Thanks Laura The food was very good and more than enough!! This certainly won't be our last visit!

Excellent food and friendly wait staff! They also had several items on the drink and food menu (Chivas, she crab soup) that a lot of other places do not. Can’t beat the view on top of it all!

Everything was great just have to the food a 4 star because the crab chowder was just soup maybe 1 spoon full of crab in the entire bowl. But it did taste delicious! Atmosphere was great perfect day drinking location on the water.

We chose the place because it's dogfriendly and we loved it. The hostes were mindful of placing the dogs ( small to small and bigger to bigger) . The view is just beautiful and food ( at least what we had) excellent) and not overpriced. My husband had the drink mango madness and was happy with it. our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will definitely visit again

A "Must" when in Cape May. Unlike the "More" Expensive and "Highly Crowded" Restaurants in Cape May, the Harbor View Restaurant provides Outstanding Service, Affordable Prices, Delicious Food, and Water Views. Might be closed for the Fall. Enjoy!!

We had been previously and returned not to be disappointed. Friendly and courteous staff. Cleanest restroom in a restaurant that I have seen in years. Seated in dining room with water view. Hurricane is good but a tad weak. Hubby had fried oysters. I had fra Diablo. Someone knows how to cook this in the kitchen. Excellent sauce and well cooked seafood. Pass on the NJ clam chowder. Milky broth with little to no clams. overall recommended. We will return.
