While in Cape May we had to find a cool bar. The King Edward was close to our hotel and gave a nice homey feel and good drinks.

I've never actually written a review on Yelp, and this may be the only time, but the service we received an hour ago at King Edward prompted me to write this. Today is my birthday, and we're down in Cape May for the weekend, staying about two blocks away from King Edward. We heard great things about this place, and we were looking for a late afternoon happy hour spot for a drink or two before dinner. We should've known something was off when upon entering the bar and greeting the sole surly patron and equally surly bartender we received zero response. Seeing that the bartender was using a portion of the bar for cutting up fruit we asked if we should sit at one of the nearby high top tables instead. The response from the bartender? "I don't care where you sit," in an equally surly manner. We immediately walked out. Terrible service, King Edward. Do better.

The bartender was great, she made great drinks and was friendly. Sitting on the porch of the hotel with drinks was wonderful.

Five stars for great atmosphere, decent beer selection, friendly folks. But (for me) more than anything the kindness and generativeity of the owners for hosting the Howard Street Ramble on Thursday nights. Thank you!More about that: flks, if you are in Cape May (in season - check with the Chalfont - we saw them Oct.6th), this is a can't miss event. Very, *very* talented musicians jamming on the porch. And although it's free, you should definitely buy some beers/drinks to support the venue and the band...or let me put it this way: when was the last time a band passed the hat and you gave them $30 for you and a friend? I'd be happy to sip and listen to this band every week. Other than the beach, this is the best thing in Cape May. Actually, that's a lie: better than the beach. The building is a beautiful testament to the past; bar itself is dimly lit (not dark) and cozy, bartenders were really friendly, and it's a very nice place to chill with friends. Band or not, I would definitely hang in the bar!

The servers are not always the friendliest...but the drinks are always good. We love to go there just for the ambiance...the porch is amazing. It is the apidamy of victorian Cape May. It is worth the trip!

Very cool vibe, with live music
Great place to have really great cocktails in an awesome environment with friendly people. It's a small space but worth the effort getting a seat.
Aggressively strong cocktails and a fun vintage atmosphere, but a little shabby (possibly deliberately so?)
Absolutely fantastic place to have a drink. Anita is the best
Friendly atmosphere. Great bar service!
