Blonde woman, probably the owner. I’ve never had such a disgusting dining experience in my life. Constantly annoying looks, irritating behavior — I felt very uncomfortable. Don’t come here and don’t bring anyone. They brought the bill before we even finished our meal. Such establishments should not be allowed to exist.

Review of La Doña, Cape May
I am writing to document a highly concerning experience at La Doña in Cape May. Upon arrival, the host informed us of a 25-minute wait time, which was acceptable. However, when staff noticed my service dog, I was denied access to the dining area.
This denial is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires public establishments—including restaurants—to permit access for individuals accompanied by service animals. The owner’s response was not only non-compliant but also rude and dismissive, demonstrating a lack of understanding of both legal obligations and basic customer service.
It is troubling when a business disregards federal law and fails to provide equal access. This type of treatment is discriminatory and unacceptable. I would strongly caution individuals with service animals, and anyone who values respectful, lawful treatment, to reconsider dining at this establishment.
Everything was perfect from the staff to the food. They make the guacamole in front of you which is fantastic!

Had dinner, ordered the fajitas. Had hardly any chicken, plenty of pepper and some onions. Condiments that came with it were skimpy, a tablespoon of queso, a tablespoon of guacamole, a 1/4 cup rice and a black (no beans) liquid.
No complimentary chips/salsa. Expensive for what you get.
Great atmosphere outside dinning. BYOB

We saw them picking up food from the floor and returning it to the plate for their customer

I want to start by saying that the food wasn’t worth what you pay. What led me to leave a one-star rating was the overall lack of organization, professionalism, and respect. Particularly from the owner herself.
We were told the wait time would be 25–30 minutes, but we ended up waiting over an hour to be seated. After finally being seated, we waited another hour for our food to arrive. During that time, our server checked on us only once (about 10 minutes before the food came out.)
What was most disappointing, however, was the owner's behavior. After leaving what I felt was a fair tip for the level of service we received, the owner, “La Doña,” called out to us, saying, “Goodbye, next time learn how to leave tips.” I found this to be incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional, especially coming from someone representing the business.
No one should be pressured into leaving a large tip when the service does not meet basic expectations. I believe the owner should reflect on how she treats her customers. Especially, members of her own community. At the end of the day, it’s the customers who keep a business running, and that deserves appreciation, not criticism.
We will not be returning nor recommending.

La Doña Restaurant was Fantastic !Food was incredible , the people all were Amazing - made you feel so comfortable and welcome! Steak and ceviche was out of this world - and every details from the desert and non-alcohol margarita were immaculate ! A must try !
Do not come here with a stroller. We asked if we could bring our stroller in to dine and we were told yes. After waiting 45 minutes the Manager/Owner changed her mind and said it was too busy to bring the stroller in. Her attitude was rude and unsympathetic to the fact that we just waited 45 minutes to eat at their restaurant. There was a perfectly good table where the stroller would not be in the way and she said she wouldn’t seat us there because we were too small of a party. Two adults and a stroller they said they could sit with a table of 4 available. She chose to ruin our night instead of accommodate us. If they would have been honest up front we would have moved on but they let us think we would be able to dine here. Terrible management/ownership. Easily avoidable situation. Do better.
The staff, including the woman preparing the guacamole, were kind and pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
However, the owner's approach came across as aggressive and unaccommodating. We were not given options regarding our BYOB, and felt rushed to leave despite there being open tables available. Unfortunately, the owner's behavior overshadowed what could have been a positive experience. It's disappointing to see such conduct from someone in a leadership role. Based on this experience, we will not be returning or recommending
Expensive food, small portions, decent taste. Save your money, also no AC. Exorbitant prices due to high rent. Tip for the restaurant, cut price to attract more customers and increase size. That way you can get more sales. I see it all the time restaurants charge more and more and they eventually close

This is a nice and authentic Mexican restaurant. Their staff did an excellent job taking care of us. They were very accommodating and make space for our group of 9 without a reservation. Siena, our server, was excellent. I saw how they work in a team to ensure that all of us were having a great experience. Food was excellent. They had a special of tuna ceviche that I really enjoyed.

As a local, this was my first time at La Doña! I was always intrigued by its charming atmosphere every time I walked by and was pleased to try it for the first time tonight! This BYOB was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life!! I got the Carne Asada and my friend got enchiladas, both meals were very fresh and delectable. The owner came over and checked on all the tables multiple times giving us detailed information on their cuisine! She was so nice! We will be returning and regret not trying this place sooner!
Food was good, but way too over priced. Very Tiny portions! Server was horrible. She rushed us from the beginning. Very disappointed.
