We've been going there since the 80's. Great food, service, ambiance. You won't be disappointed!
Quaint and pretty restaurant. Service was excellent. My husband loved his fish dish, but would have preferred different sides other than the organic rice and cabbage. If you are a vegetarian, the menu is limited. I ate the vegetable cakes, but they were spud heavy and did not contain a lot of other vegetables. Desserts were amazing! We had homemade Keylime pie and vanilla bread pudding in a whiskey sauce! Both were superb!
We could not have been more pleased, it was my first time dining here but it's one of my girlfriends favorite spots. You owe it to yourself to make a reservation, you will not be disappointed! From start to finish everything was outstanding.
We both really enjoyed our appetizers and entrees, the coleslaw and rice that accompanied the entree was not good at all, tasteless would be a good description. All in all it is a nice BYOB restaurant.
Louisa's is a very small, but attractive restaurant. The food was simply prepared and excellent. Both my wife's scallops and my flounder were very fresh and tasty. Louisa's staff was welcoming and attentive.
We've gone here for years. Louisa's never disappoints. Quaint atmosphere. Locally sourced foods. GREAT staff. The food is always wonderfully prepared.
I know it's been a staple in Cape May for years and I had never been there. I'm sad to say it was a bit disappointing. It's very tiny and it's quite noisy - difficult for my husband to hear me across the table, but easy for him to converse with the person at the table next to him on the same side of the table. Portion size was good. Although fresh, the flounder was bland. I was also disappointed that both my husband's and my meals had the exact same sides - slaw and rice, also both on the bland size. The beet salad was great, and the spicy crab soup was tasty, but light on the crab. Service was very friendly and attentive.
Best, most fresh fish on the island. If you are looking for a high-quality, delicious meal that is simple and balanced, this is the place for you. Love the people, the location, and the seafood! The desserts are also outstanding! One of the best bakers in the area makes everything in house. The signature rice pudding is to die for, but so is the chocolate pie and the specialty desserts of the day. Salads and soups are also delish! Bon Appetit!
This time around we found our dishes rather bland. The swordfish was cooked perfectly but it needed seasoning, possibly a butter sauce - could not taste the Thai basil at all. The shrimp was bland too. Like there was very little seasoning. The place is lovely and charming but this time the food did not impress us
First time excellent vey fresh fish oriented menu. Service friendly and efficient. Would comback

We started with the eggplant salad (special for the day) and it was delicious. My husband had the scallops and I had the crab cakes, both were cooked to perfection. We ended with the mint and chocolate pot de creme and Louisa's chocolate pie with apricot and orange sauce-both were outstanding. We have been going to Louisa's for 30 years while vacationing and always look forward to it. We had dinner there two nights this week. The staff is wonderful, we love the vibe, and the fish is always delicious.
We went there twice over the course of two weeks and my wife had the scallops both times I had the grilled swordfish and then the shrimp the second time. Third member of our party had the jerk chicken. I would have to say that the food quality/preparation is variable. The scallops were so much better the first time And my shrimp was mediocre and the jerk chicken was a poor attempt of what jerk chicken should be.
The food and service was incredible like always we both enjoyed we have been a lot one few times it was okay buy must say the food n everything was excellent
Super cute place and I was hoping the other reviews about the bland food were not true but sadly they are. Flounder had almost no flavor— even with the sauce. Disappointing but cute atmosphere and decent service.

We went with two friends, have literally went here since the nineties. Unfortunately not much has changed on the menu although desert has vastly improved. I will go by my experience I got the sesame peanut noodles app was a good start kinda small for the price not much involved noodles covered in peanuts cucumbers and green onion in a sesame dressing. I liked it my companions enjoyed their salads. My main I went with the jerk chicken really bland. You would think for jerk chicken the flavor would be more pronounced. Side of basicly raw cabbage masquerading as Cole slaw and undercooked rice masquerading as rice. My wife got the salmon weird thing they gave her bbq sauce where as mine had a red pepper sauce I used it for the coleslaw because of its mayonnaise type consistency I gave it to my wife for her salmon and told her my coleslaw idea which she thanked me for, she said hers was good except the bones she encountered in the salmon and I'm gonna say people do miss bones in a fish I was a chef at a restaurant in Philly I know I did. Besides that mains were a bit of a let down. Now desert I stumbled on a home run it was a mint chocolate Pot de crème my wife had the key lime pie and our friends apple crumb w vanilla ice cream and chocolate pie they looked great and from the looks went down great too. Our server was so nice and accommodating kept my ice teas filled. The outside on an early sept night couldn't be beat. We will prob be back because it's a tradition with us like I said the 90s but it'd be great to see them step it up and try some new things. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it but it's the same menu I remember from thirty five years ago. There are too many new places to try and if it wasn't our friend's favorite we would not go. Sorry not sorry.did I mention how nice our server was awesome. Got the third star for desert.
