Our dining experience was marred by subpar food, despite the restaurant's cozy atmosphere and versatile seating options. The bread was stale, the water was warm, and ice was not provided. Furthermore, the main dish arrived with cold brown rice and flavorless slaw, although the crab cakes and tartar sauce were notable exceptions. Dessert was shamefully small for 12 dollars a slice, but was the only tasty thing of the whole entire meal. Despite, of the nice decor the food 🥘 is not worth a single penny. This restaurant should be a-shame to even call farm to table fresh food. It’s the worst experience we ever had in fine dinning. Disgusting 🤢 ‼️ “For the poor family who also posted about their experience paying full price for a child’s meal of $ 26. 00 dollars for a bowl of pasta. Is insane!!” So, buyer be aware‼️ Don’t want another family to spend their hard earned money on Louisa’s Cafe.😕 “We will not be eating at Louisa’s Cafe again!”

Amazing experience as always. Started with heirloom tomato salad, then had the salmon and blackened baby bluefish. Salad was very fresh and the fish was fresh and cooked very well. Ended with bread pudding which was excellent. Our favorite restaurant in Cape May!

The restaurant is small and the tables are close together. The food and service were outstanding. We had the summer salad special, crab cakes, and flounder. Everything tasted fresh.

I love this restaurant, the food is always delicious and the desserts amazing. We had the local scallops and local flounder which were both great. For dessert we had the key lime pie which was the best we've ever had! I gave it 4 stars for ambience only because we sat right by the kitchen area, which had a lot of waitress traffic which took away from our dining experience. We've sat in other areas, in the restaurant as well as dining outside, on other visits to this restaurant which were always great experiences!

Arrived a little early. Rainy night. They were so gracious and seated us. Been going here over 40 years. Great experience every time!

Dinner for four at Louisa’s last night did not disappoint.

We started with the cajun crab soup which had generous portions of crab meat, Smoked Salmon Rillettes served with Golden Wheat Crackers, and a roasted beet salad with Gorgonzola Cheese and Vidalia Onions. For entrees the Cape May Scallops with Tamari and Ginger was delicious and the dipping sauce gave it a little kick. The Crab Cakes with Homemade Tartar Sauce were wonderful, everyone raved about the tartar sauce! The deserts are something to save space for at the end of the meal. Louisa's Chocolate Pie with Orange Apricot Glaze is a must try.
Staff is friendly and attentive. This is a BYOB restaurant. Can’t say enough about Louisa’s except go there and enjoy.

the perfect spot for an outdoor patio dinner for your getaway to cape may. I was there for the weekend and sat outside and we had such a great meal. Salmon rilletes were delicious. perfect of creamy, smokey, and salty. The fish was so fresh and loved that it came with hearty brown rice and fresh slaw. You can mix and match sauces so I tried dill, lemon garlic, and tamari ginger. cant reccomend enough! I wish i could have tried the key lime pie but we were in a rush. Do not walk RUN to the chocolate store as well. Most amazing chocolate selection I have ever seen in my life.

Hard bread like in jail and brown rice cooked like if a 3rd grader cooked it. Water tasted like chlorine from the pool. I left my pocket empty after eating there. The key lime pie was ok. I will start with that and end my meal there.

Once again and home run meal! Crab cakes and the swordfish chimmichuri were delish! Allison was the sole server poor thing but was lovely and friendly ! Thank you !

The food was NOT good at all sorry to report… party of 6 crammed in a table upstairs with low ceiling leaving you cramped. The crab cakes were the worst I ever had and smelled “fishy” and rubbery. Other entrees were not good either. Also, you shouldn’t have such a perfumed candle burning while around food/dining. Won’t be back.

We had not been to Louisa's in many years in spite of having a home here. We were very happy to rediscover it! The scallops and flounder were both delicious. Service was also great. It's a small, intimate little BYOB. It's happily back on our regular list !

Louisa's is our favorite Cape May restaurant. Enjoyed a delicious meal of Ginger Sesame Noodles with Peanuts, Cucumbers and Scallions, Florida shrimp and chocolate bread pudding. Excellent service. Pleased to find it was open this late in the season.
