The scallops were disgusting. Oysters horrendous. I can’t believe this place is allowed to serve food this bad. Don’t waste your money on this dump!

Truly revolting
A picturesque porch with wonderful food and drinks! The servers are quick but not so fast that you feel rushed. Delicious food and clever drinks. Been coming here for 15 years and will come here for as long as we can! If you can come on a night with live music, you’ll be in for a special treat!

We have been coming to Cape May for a dozen years and this was the best set of entrees we have ever had. The fried chicken and catch of the way were truly wonderful!

The food was at best, disappointing. I'm sure the women featured on the website would not have served overcooked, dry chicken. The crab cakes were worse, also and not fresh.
We had to ask for small plates for our appetizers, tartar sauce (mostly mayonnaise, poor flavor) and the waiter disappeared twice.
Room is dingey, could use a freshening up.
Oh, final insult - the men's room reeked of urine.

I liked this place,it seems perfect for the summertime.we dined on the porch. Our served Iva was great and the host, Connor, provided good attentive service. Fried chicken is highly recommended. I found the music outside a bit too loud, but I like that ppl congregate porch side for a mini concert. The inside dining area seems a bit drab and dated, the set up certainly doesn't seem ideal as a restaurant, but they make it work. The old porch provides plenty of character, but the uncomfortable seating and extreme slant of the porch provide dining challenges. Not the most comfortable dining experience for the money, but It has its charm and we will return.
Quite good, i liked sitting on the porch where i ordered the duck which was pretty good but i have nothing to compare it to as i have only had duck a few other times at chinese restaurants

The new chef is doing great! Best dinner in Cape May this year! The fried chicken is better than Red Rooster in Harlem. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. And of course, sitting on the beautiful porch was one of the highlights of our vacation. Holly recommended.

Loved the fried chicken, unique flavor and texture in the breading and nice and juicy, plus it’s a great portion. Excellent crab chowder too. Really nice setting too, will definitely return.

Very disappointed in the entire experience, which was very different from previous visits. Drinks, including the Arnold Palmers, were watered down. Every dish need d seasoning ( which I anticipated because the tables around us were asking for salt) and most crimminal of all, they have removed their famous chocolate pie from the menu. A Cape May favorite is now ancient history

Food was excellent. We had the fried chicken, the roasted oysters, corn and crab soup and the fried eggplant. Highly recommend the soup and fried chicken.

Five star food in a casual atmosphere! The Magnolia Room at the Chalfonte is a little hidden gem in Cape May. Dine inside or outside on the historic porch. Since it was raining, we opted for inside. Service was excellent, staff were attentive and friendly. Cocktails from the King Eddy were perfect as always. Usually known for their brunch, we gave dinner a go and were not disappointed: New York strip special ::chef kiss:: Tuna Special ::chef kiss::
Parking: Depending on the time of year, parking can be difficult. Might be a walk of 3+ blocks to find something.
