Cuisine to international standards. Fairly expensive compared to a couple of years ago, but being a BYOB., you can enjoy super wines of your own and save money. Specials include larger portions and much more expensive meats. Unless a huge eater, stick with the high quality standard menu offerings and still eat exceptional food.

Maison Bleue offers a wonderful change of pace to the Cape May dining scene offering well-prepared, tasty French cuisine. We love the chicken liver pate as a starter and have tried most of the entre offerings, all of which have been very tasty and enjoyable. This restaurant is very nicely appointed and offers a wonderful deck seating option in good weather. The front of the house is professional and attentive, yet very friendly and approachable. Dottie and Sarah Jane do a great job.

This is a BYOB so you can save significantly on wine costs by bringing your favorite libation. We dine here monthly and recommend you try Maison Bleue.

We had a wonderful meal of Pate Maison and Clams Piperade as our first course, both were delicious. The claws were especially pleasing for us. Coq Au Vin and Pasta au Pistou for our main course. My wife even exclaimed to that this was the best chicken she's ever had. )f course who can remember the thousands that came before but the sentiment was sincere. The restaurant has air of both new and old in the large 140 y.o. home (Now the The Hugh B&B) with deep sapphire blue walls in the dining room we ate in and large photo graph art prints adorning those walls. The lighting is elegant. Service seemed a little rough (may due to the early time in the season).

Somehow they must have overheard us talking about our anniversary and added candles to our deserts. My wife had the berry tart absolutely loved it. While mine a gateau with berry sauce and vanilla ice cream. Making it the best dessert. The candles on the desserts were such a special moment putting an impeccable night over the top.

Lets start with the bread shall we? The butter with the flecks of salt! I even asked for a second basket! Our server recommended the pea soup so thats what I chose to start with. So glad I did! It was so good! For my meal I had the scallop dish and it too was delicious! Perfectly cooked and the mushroom sauce was so good! I would have loved more veggies, my only complaint. We also had the cream brûlée for dessert. Our server was alright enough. Nothing special. Vibe was nice inside.

Recent Trip to Maison Bleue at The Hugh B&B in Cape May did not disappoint! Shout out to Dorothy Birchall Shuman and her support staff for the excellent service. Russ Wheeler and the back of the house killed it! I love French cuisine and was really looking forward to this one for my Birthday ?.

Duck appetizer was a hit. The Humboldt Fog cheese was amazing. Next moving on the the escargot ? over the puff pastry. I have never had it prepared like this before and I don’t think I want it any other way now. So delicious. The baked oysters with leek fondue and caviar were probably my personal favorite. I could probably eat a dozen of them. So creamy and delicious. The steak and scallops with the Cafe de Paris sauce that was “plucked” out of France ?? by the owners was to die for. I could put this sauce on anything. So rich. The apple birthday dessert and the Crème Brûlée were both very good but I would have to say it was the best Crème Brûlée I’ve ever had. So satisfying cracking the sugar shell on top.

Once again highly recommended from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Was sat inside but they also have a nice porch with comfy chairs and couches that looks onto Washington Street and even has overhead heaters for the colder months. The inside dining was extraordinary. The French music mix along with the lighting definitely set the tone for the evening. I felt like I was in Lyon but only 15 minutes away from my doorstep. 10/10 experience, will be back!

Food was delicious as always. We've been here several times and it doesn't disappoint. From the filet mignon to the burger to the fish, it's my new favorite restaurant in Cape May. If I had to be picky, I would say that the scallops offered with the sur and turf could have been bigger. The service is average, but the food makes up for it.

After all the great reviews I was very excited to eat at Maison Bleue Bistro, so I was beyond disappointed. This was one of the worst meals I've ever had from the service, to the wait to the quality of the food. The owner should be embarassed for the service at the 10/12 7PM and later seating. Was seated late for my reservation, which was fine and tried to take it in stride. Our server Anna seemed overwhelmed as she had about 8 tables in our section. Had to ask for water, still fine and tried to take it in stride. Anna our server did not even attempt to engage, still fine as I didn't want it to ruin my night. Then I waited 45 minutes for my meal, there was not a server to be found and the entire dining room was sitting there with no food. Food finally showed up, what were to be dayboat scallops seemed like frozen supermarket scallops, and the steak was tough and was missing any seasoning. Kitchen moved into cleanup mode as everything was late, yelling and banging pots and pans. Was going to complain but front desk staff left too. What a joke of a restaurant... shameful.

Excellent meal set in a trendy yet classy setting. Simple menu with traditional French dishes with some flair. Whole experience was perfect. Highly recommend the steak frittes and carrot ginger soup.

Horrible experience from start to finish. We were seated late. Anna our server tried but was ill equipped, did not engage us even though our entrees didn't come for an hour. Food came and was sub-par, $89 for a surf and turf which would have been fine except steak lacked seasoning and was tough, day boat scallops were small and had no sear. Kitchen started cleaning up because it got so late and you could hear them yelling and banging the pots. Would have complained but front desk staff left too. Worst meal, and service...stay far away.

A definate stop for the finer culinary experience in Cape May, NJ. We enjoyed it very much. Small place so an Open Table reservation is a necessity! You won't be disappointed!!
