Really wanted to like this place but I came hungry and unfortunately left with no appetite.
Was here with a small group of friends for brunch and the service right out the gate was okay(ish). We placed our orders and were very excited when it came out but it was all down hill from there.
When I was handed my quesadilla I noticed a long black hair on the plate (gross but not the end of the world). I tried to remove it from the plate only to find it was baked into the cheese! So I told the server about the hair and his immediate response was "well I didn't cook the food so what do you want from me?" I was completely taken a back by just how rudely he responded. He wound up taking it back to be remade after I had to ask.
He came back a couple minutes later (which should have tipped me off because of how long it took us to get our food the first time) with a "fresh" quesadilla. The food was hot but definitely not as crispy as the first one but I was so hungry at this point I just started to eat it. I got through one full triangle and half way through the second when I noticed it. Another hair! This time it was so mixed in I could barely pull on it. Obviously disgusted I waited for the waitress to come over and I told her and she was visibly (and audibly) annoyed.
I don't know for sure but the odds of there being hair in two different orders seems highly unlikely. Plus the speed at which it came out makes me think it was the same quesadilla just reheated.
The whole situation was absolutely unacceptable and like I said completely spoiled mine and my friends appetites. The waitress was annoyed when she told us the restaurant comped my meal and the manager didn't offer any type of apology for the gross negligence of the kitchen staff nor the rude behavior of the servers.
Do Better Ocean 7.

One omelet was missing some add-ins, the other omelet was made completely wrong. Breakfast was very tasty though. Our waitress seemed miserable but the other staff were friendly.

Lovely oceanfront restaurant with GREAT cocktails. Food service was slow and both of our food orders were missing something. Two other tables around us also had their food orders messed up. Waitress looked pretty miserable.

Mediocre at best.

If you want to sit on the porch on a nice summer day with a cocktail, it's probably great. But dinner was bland. I don't mind paying for really good food, but this was just not worth it.

With all the great restaurants in Cape May, this is probably not one we will revisit.

The photos of this place really pull you in, and based on our lunch experience they could not have been more misleading. Started off with a cocktail that I am used to ordering and it was terrible. No flavor, all booze. The cheese plate is average, weird hummus and an odd choice of overly seasoned crackers, and the tiniest amount of cheese. The Caesar salad was drowned in dressing that tasted SO strongly of anchovies, also didn't come with croutons? Blackened fish salad was incredibly salty.
The place was cute and service was fine, but the food experience was so subpar.

Decided to try Ocean Seven as we were interested in outside dining-Food was not up to the rating we saw posted or comparatively on par with other local dining spots-Service was sub standard- non attentive and not timely-no straws or condiments were provided for our beverages -chicken salad had an over abundance of mayonnaise and did not taste fresh-the burger was just Ok overwhelmed by chips- totally disgusted by the experience and literally leaving with a bad taste in my mouth-do better

The place was empty on a Saturday evening and even then if we needed something we had to flag down the waitress. It was our first time trying it out but we decided that there are so many better places to dine at in CM!

We came on a Monday evening in October. Up front, we were not told anything would be different being off-season or weekday. The restaurant was basically empty although we were highly encouraged to make reservations. I tried to order the Tuna Tartare appetizer and was interrupted by the waitress stating "we don't have that on weekdays". Mind you, the same appetizer was listed on the bar menu earlier in the day and no one ever mentioned it being unavailable. Instead, I ordered clam chowder. My mom ordered french onion. It took a while for the soups to come. The waitress, an older woman, wasn't overly friendly and never apologized for wait times. The French onion was way too salty! I decided to order the scallop dinner. My mom ordered no dinner. It took almost 50 minutes for my dinner to come. Again, no apology. I took one bite & knew the scallops were spoiled. They smelled of ammonia. I sent them back. I ordered nothing else. So disappointed after looking forward to this after having a good experience 2 years ago (also off season). Thankfully they did take it off the bill.

The menu has seafood, meat and vegetarian pasta dishes. Our party of 8 had a variety, from crab cakes, to hanger steak, shrimp with linguini, and pasta with pork ragu. All were delicious. Italian lemon cake for dessert was especially good. Service was attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend.

We had a delicious meal. Addie, our server was attentive, friendly and added to our fun evening. We were a party of 8 and the food came out timed perfectly and hot. The drinks were great. The room is all windows which was lovely. The music from the guitar player on the Porch was an added bonus! We found you looking on open table for a last minute (3 hours ahead) reservation. Great find! We will be back!

Terrible experience at Ocean 7. We didn’t see a server in sight on the empty porch and decided to seat ourselves for lunch, as we’ve done before. The waiters ignored us for a few minutes until the hostess finally walked up and angrily asked “are you here for lunch?” When we said yes, she sighed in frustration and said “well I GUESS I’ll get you menus then.”

I am assuming the hostess station was inside and that was where we were meant to go request a table—but there was no signage, and nobody said a word to us. The couples around us looked at us in disbelief when she “scolded” us. If they had told us to go inside, we happily would have.

My partner ordered the turkey BLT, assuming it was grilled turkey breast—it ended up being lunch meat that we could’ve gotten at Wawa. I had a burger, which was fine.

We never received a drink menu and the waitress dropped our check off without asking. I’m not sure why the staff were so resentful of our business, but we certainly won’t be returning, and now I understand the very mixed reviews. There are much better spots in Cape May—don’t bother.

The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection! Wait staff knowledgeable snd friendly. The drinks were the best we had in cape May! Have a drink on the porch before dinner! I would highly recommend!

OpenTable was very helpful in our reservation for Ocean 7 at our recent stay at the Inn at Cape May. We ate both breakfast and dinner at Ocean 7 and enjoyed both meals very much. Our server for dinner was exceptional. He was most attentive and never rushed us to order our food. We ordered Grilled Grouper, Grilled Ribeye and, the soup of the day, Pumpkin. Everything was delicious and we asked our server to tell the chef how much we enjoyed our meals.
