Oyster Bay Restaurant & Bar

After not going to oyster bay for about 4 years due to a poor experience, we decided to try it again last summer. It was excellent ( food, service etc.). We went there again this September while vacationing in Cape May and it was absolutely awful. Our filets were overcooked , mashed potatoes were served dry and cold. Our server was terribly rude and seemed to forget we were there. I asked her for some butter and she brought it we were ready for the check. When I told her it was too late she just turned around and walked away. Our bill was $256 before the tip. Needless to say it was not a generous one. We will never go there again. So disappointing!

The food was phenomenal, drinks were delicious and the bartender with the beard was awesome and a lot of fun. (apologies for forgetting his name.) Huge A+ all around.

Everything about this charming place is excellent. The service , food, drinks and desserts were top shelf. The restaurant is clean, along with the restrooms. They have a well stocked bar and have enough people employed. It was really a great little find. We will return whenever we visit Cape May.

Nice place for adult dining. Food was very good. Leisurely dinner, not rushed. Also have a large bar area for more casual dining and watching sports.

Pretty, well kept establishment but can be renovated. Waitress was attentive but wasn’t happy with the tip because her words to my husband were “Just so you know, gratuity was NOT already in the bill”, and stormed off.

Other than that, food was just okay. The best thing in my opinion were the boardwalk fries. Perfectly seasoned, the right amount of thickness and crisp. I ordered the duck and for a $40 dish, I don’t want to see canned oranges on my plate. The flavors were nice on the duck and it was cooked tender. However, sides were flavorless and just seemed to be steamed and barely buttered.

Cocktail was delicious, but you can tell the garnish jalapeños were cut 2-3 days ago.

To finish, I don’t think I’d come back.

Was very happy we stumbled across this restaurant while on vacation recently. The food and cocktails were phenomenal! The portion sizes were surprisingly large, and the atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

I ordered the ribeye steak & it was the best steak & mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. So flavorful & delicious! My husband enjoyed his chicken & potatoes as well.

You need a chainsaw for the NY Strip Steak.
The beet salad was average and the beets were out of a can.
The Salmon dish was good
Service couldn’t wait to get you out
The obviously changed the menu from last year and now I know why the place was half empty when every other restaurant was booked down here.

Delicious. Accommodating. Kind staff.

The attitude of the women that sat us was off, almost made us feel like we weren't worthy to eat there. After we were sat down it was abit of a wait for the waitress to take just our drink order. For food we ordered the Duck Breast, beware that the portion was significantly smaller then the advertised picture. Both entrees were very small in portion size. The food was unfortunately not worth the value spent. The salad was wilted and kind of pitiful. The steak and duck I will say did have some delicious flavoring.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. I sat at the bar and didn't want to leave. The atmosphere was laid back, the bartenders friendly, the beer was cold and the food was excellent.
