Stopped here for dinner after walking the Washington street market with our small dogs. we got a table quickly outside with our dogs. Very friendly staff, food was great and prices were reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Sit outside near the fire in the offseason. Cool vibe. Food is decent.

Ribs, Ribs, and More ribs. The chef here makes everything from scratch. From the clam chowder, and a mac and cheese that will make you slap your momma for even trying after eating his cooking. I would give more stats but there wouldn't be space left on this post. If you ever are in Cape May you must go to the Rusty Nail.

My husband and I always enjoyed stopping here for drinks when we come into this town. We love having a beer and putting our feet in the sand. Today we decided to try their food. It was very good. We had the little necks, sorry no picture. They were delicious. My husband had the flounder sandwich and I had the pulled pork sandwich with the coleslaw. The food and service were very good. We did decide to have one more drink by the fire pit and some live music. Very nice.

We have moved down here and have been to the RN years ago when we stayed at the beach shack. We walk by on the promenade all the time. Last night we decided to give it a try. When we went in we were offered option inside or out. It was a cooler evening so we picked inside. We still had a nice view of the fire pit and outside. They had a huge tv by our table unfortunately wasn’t on I could dtill see the ballgame in the smaller ones further away. I think if I had asked they would have turned it on. It’s nothing fancy but we weren’t looking for fancy just something quick and easy, a couple of burgers was the choice. Our server Patrick was much appreciated. I always judge on my second ice tea, he did not disappoint. Coming by to refill without having to flag him down. The rest of the servers all pitched in to make sure our food arrived hot when ready. Plenty of people acting as a team. We got the fried shrimp appetizer. Large breaded I couldn’t tell if they were frozen or hand made at the restaurant so I think that goes to saying they were good. They were large that’s always a plus. The cocktail sauce had a nice bite to it generally a hit with my wife and I. We both got the burger. Patrick was ahead of the game and asked if we wanted the shack sauce on the side which we went for not knowing exactly how the sauce was so why chance on your burger. Side was the way the sauce was delish esp for dipping fries in, had a Russian dressing vibe to me. The fries which come separate and not added to the burger which was not strange but was a way to get a little more money out of us, usually it’s add fries for a few extra bucks but at thd RN it’s buy a basket for 9.00 kinda much but we split them and they were great crispy on the outside soft and full on the inside not shoestring but real fries. Wife got coleslaw it was just right for me not to much Mayo but still flavorful. We opted out for dessert the meal was filling. Towards the end of our meal,in the outside area, a musician started playing guitar and singing we didn’t get their name but he was quite good and we enjoyed the live music. All in all two thumbs up. We will definitely be back on a warmer evening or during season to sit outside and enjoy the complete experience. We are blessed with many great restaurants in this area and rest assured this is one of them.

I’d recommend the Rusty Nail only for drinks, the outside area has a good vibe with live music and fire pits.

We decided to order food outside, then moved inside due to rain. The waitresses seemed to be fighting over who took us which was awkward.

Food took a long time to come out and was not good. The ribs was smothered in a disgusting sauce, served with microwaved Mac and cheese and green beans.

Another family member had the clam chowder and it made them ill.

I had my desert (part of the meal deal) to go. Again for some reason this caused an issue and took 20 minutes. It was just a slice of pre bought keylime pie.

Overall a weird experience for food, would only go back for drinks.

Good food, service was a bit slow. They allow dogs, but only on the patio or outside. They even have a dog menu! The mahi mahi tacos were fantastic and had a ton of fish.

The Rusty Nail has one of the coolest vibes along Beach Ave. The outdoor space is amazing with tables, a bar, picnic tables, sandy areas with beach chairs, a fire pit, etc, etc. The food however could use an upgrade or clarification. I ordered the mozzarella sticks which were basically fried mozz balls (think fried cheese curds). Plenty of them and not bad by any means but just not what I was expecting. My mom ordered the broiled flounder which she said was completely tasteless and it was clearly sitting in a pool of water on the plate. I would say this place is fantastic for drinks with a party of any size and some snacks. The atmosphere is top notch.

Horrible service. My wife and I walked in at 4:20pm just after happy hour. Person at the register at the front door said hello and offered a table, we declined, just wanted a drink maybe an appetizer at the bar. There was 5 guys behind the bar chatting when arrived, we looked at the drink menu on the wall, looked down the the bar, nobody moving our way. Hmmm... Slow all 5 one by one walked away. We are the only customers at the bar, there is no way they didn't notice us. My wife said one sort of made eye contact and ignored us. We decided to go somewhere else and walked out. Horrible service. I have never been ignored like this ever. The place was empty now I know why. Bye, spent my money down the block.

I cannot say enough about this lively little beach side hang out! FUN FUN FUN. Great drinks, great snacks, great service. During our visit, they had a Pacifica Beer group that was giving away a nice variety of items with your beer purchase...which made this visit even more fun! Even our dogs enjoyed our visit!

Very fun atmosphere, the restaurant really sprawls, with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor seating, a sand pit, fire pits, a couple bars, and live music! Food and drinks are very good, they have quite a few tasty options.
