Vast selection of tea. Love their wild blackberry tea.
First off, this is not a "tea shop". It is actually one of 3 stores in one big building and is mainly an antique store with a very small section dedicated to tea. If you keep that in mind, your disappointment will be minimal. When you first come in the store there is A LOT of loose teas in jars and the first thing you notice is how washed out the labels are. Some labels look like there are water stains on them and others are literally sun bleached off. I would not be surprised if the tea has been there since summer of 1997. When I had a question about the actual flavors of the tea, tasting notes (glimmer of hope to try a sample maybe?) the response I got was "hmmm, I don't know, let's take a look." There I was hunched over looking at washed out labels with a lady who knew absolutely nothing about tea. Mind you, she was nice and if you're there for antiques, it's right up your alley, but if you're looking for a gem of a tea shop, this certainly is not it.
Called to see if the solar eclipse glasses were still avail and didn’t even get to finish my sentence and was cut off by an employee to say no 3 times before i finished talking. very disrespectful and now reading the other reviews i see its not very surprising for this place. i have never been to this store before and the first interaction was that? disgusting
Needed one thing, but decided to look at the teas, I guess they get a lot of shoplifters in there . straight up my @ss to watch me. If my other store was open on my days off I definitely would not shop in there. I then proceeded to ask a question. Was told well there over there.
Then was asking where my other product was that I put on counter( sign said this side closed )( which was not ready yet), was then told, over there where you get wrong out at! Hoping I do not have to come back and re-adjust my review, because the teas have no smell , hoping that does not mean there is no taste(old) .
I used to love shopping in here and it has been awhile. Was to afraid to go around to all the booths may have been strip searched . I do work a block over and know that it’s the end of the season and we kind of are done ( mentally) by now but your still dealing with the public and it reflects on the whole town

I come here often to stock up on tea. They have so many interesting flavors that I can’t find anywhere else. I try something new every time I visit. Thanks Tea by the Sea!
Consider taking your business elsewhere. Check the other reviews. The owner is an unpleasant Karen who doesn’t value the plethora of different types of persons who shop in Cape May. The place alone is dated and dingy and many of the items are not complete collectable sets and are damaged yet marked up as a compete “collectable”. If the stores merchandise and environment was up to date and new- I could ignore the blatant rudeness from staff. My family has consistently shopped here for years for holiday gifts- year after year we are met with terrible and rude customer service. The best investment this store could make is getting a medical removal of the stick that’s stuck in the the owners a$$hole. Shop at small businesses that treat their customers like human beings and with kindness.
Looking for teapot but tea, infusers, dip mixes.
Definitely shop somewhere else the owner was very rude! No thanks!

Such a cute shop in Cape May. My husband and I stop by to get our loose tea whenever we are visiting Cape May. We have to make it more often. Such a great place and lovely people.
Very nice shop with a large selection. Loose teas and packaged and single tea bags.
Very cool shop with lots of things you don't see everywhere else.
Many unique items...a wall of wellness tea blends...if you enjoy tea it's a must see shop...
Amazing tea shop!! So many to choose from!! I could spend years in there looking at tea!
