The curry cauliflower bisque was perfect for a chilly night in Cape May. The stuffed pepper was so tasty and I could only eat half. The artisanal cheese plate was a yummy starter with wonderful cheeses, fruit, honey and almonds! It was a totally enjoyable meal.
Parking: We made an early reservation so parking was plentiful. It is a small lot. But it is always nice to have parking available in Cape May

Food, service, atmosphere all excellent especially on Valentine’s Day. Only thing they can do better is get some Cape May Brewing beer on tap!

Drinks at bar are measured and small cocktails glasses. Measured drinks deserve measured tips. When ordering a single mall scotch needed a magnifying glass to see the pour. Disappointing. Wanted 3 extra dollars for a large cube of ice. Special water. Really !
When ordering dinner decided best to order a bottle of wine. At least then I could enjoy my food and drink.
I was there this past summer and enjoyed everything but the December visit was disappointing.

**Since there is no choice to reply to your reply....this edit will serve as my reply. You totally didn't address the spinach & fig salad, nor your waitress or the situation, except in contradiction. If the bar is open till 9pm on Thursday's, it should have then been open at 8:30 when reviewing the dessert menu. Also, the waitress should have asked before the bartender was closing up (early) if we would be liking anything else from the bar. This incident will not necessarily keep me from returning, but please address your waitstaff in not pouring beer on the table without apologies and again the contradiction of timing to fully service your patron is not correct.**
My husband said the tuna was a bit fishy. Although the flavor was delicious, I was hard pressed to find more than three nailtip size pieces of figs in the spinach fig salad. The lolliop chicken app was very good. To make space on the table the waitress took my husband's can of beer and turned it over into his glass, causing it to over foam and run all over, to which we were sort of ignored. Fast forward to "would you like to see a dessert menu?" Sure! Upon looking a desserts and after dinner drinks, the waitress says, "the bar is closed, the bartender cleaned up." I said, "I wish we knew that ahead of time." She answered with, "well, it's Thursday and after the holidays, and you can see you're the last one, we close at 8." So, it was 8:30. You take reservations to be seated up to 7:30. So, if we sat at 7:30 (instead if are actual 7), would someone have told us to hurry up? All of these things should not have occurred. The menu is pricey, but most places are these days, that's not the issue, but if you want to charge $21.00 for a burger, act your price. $258.00 for 4 people

Had a great NYE dinner experience there with the family. Kyle, the manager was awesome. Squeezed us in on a late table when our original res elsewhere fell through. And he made sure our son with allergies was well taken care of.. allowing a steak substitution and running to his other restaurant for vegan ice cream. Place was decked out for NYE, music, decor and Kyle made it a great night.

Went to give this a second try because we loved it when it was the Merion. Food was good but not amazing. I’m not one to criticize servers because I know how hard of a job it is but our server never cracked a smile. The atmosphere is still really beautiful. I would say give it a try and decide for yourself.

We were told about this place by friends. Wow we loved it! We had a reservation but the table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar and could not have had a better experience. Candace the mixologist- (bartender is not the correct term for her skills. Like calling a chef a cook.) She was so friendly and made us awesome drinks and was genuinely so happy to show us a good time. I can't say enough good things about the way Candace treated us with her warm service and truly an experience watching her and how much she enjoyed crafting a great drink. We also had a great dinner - steak and crab cakes at the bar. Sooo good. We have come back already 2 more times and have always had a great meal including the apps - lolli-pop lamb chops, octopus, french apple onion soup, and short rib fries all so very good.To top it off the atmosphere is so chill as we listened to classy lounge style music while sitting at the bar chatting with with everyone around us that made our experience even better. Kudos to the entire staff of the Cricket club!

A group of us went to dinner there last night and we all had a delicious meal. The service however was unacceptable. She didn’t introduce herself and we had to ask her name. Kathy never asked how everything was. I had to call to her to get a second glass of wine and when she brought it she never took the empty one. She never cleared or even asked to clear the empty appetizer plates. When we asked her to take the empty plates she said yes and then proceeded to wipe down another table. A credit card fee was applied to the bill before she knew most of us were paying cash. I would return because the food was so good. Hats off to the chef but only if I could have a different server.

Food and service excellent. Bartender and manager both excellent. Will visit again for sure
Stopped in twice while at cape May for the week. Excellent apps. Glazed drumsticks, lamb chops, apple onion soup, and another soup. Cant recall but all were very tasty! Tried a few new drinks from their incredibly knowledgeable bartenders, who were not only talented but very personable! All in all two great visits!

We went here again because our last experience was quite decent. I ordered the same item, roasted cauliflower. I am aware it is spicy and I was informed both times. However, the last time the spice level was just right. By genetic constitution, I can tolerate quite a bit of spice. However, tonight, the chef seemed to have emptied the entire spice rub onto the two slices on my plate. As noted, I tolerate quite a bit if spice, and enjoy it. But this was an entirely unpleasant level of spice. I cook, and I am well attuned to spice levels, spice blends, etc. Recommendation: offer 3 spice levels: light, medium, and high. Then keep the amount of spice rub consistent at each of these levels
Secondly, I noted two of the bar keeps sniffing the contents of a bottle. This is a totally gross behavior. Whatever nasal material emerges will end up in the contents. Some of us never practice this whist cooking for this simple reason.
Will have to reconsider whether we wish to return.
