Food is always good. We were seated by the front door, so the wind swept through everytime the door was opened. I'm not comfortable eating breakfast with my coat on.

Had the smoked salmon on a toasted bagel. I've never had such a large pile of salmon on a bagel in my life. It was amazing. Delicious salmon. Hearty bagel. I can't wait to go back to Cape May for another brunch at Mad Batter. Service was great too.

Fun place to dine. My friend and I had breakfast here. High quality food, light-hearted atmosphere, and good service.

Use to be one of my favorite spots. Brunch today was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Long wait for hostess with no real greeting. Long wait for waiter with no introduction. Ordered a special, crab and lobster omelette. Waiter never asked what type toast so I surprised that I received a slice of wheat. Dish came out of the kitchen extremely quickly, with barely warm omlette and cold cheese inside. Seemed as though it had been sitting prepared ahead. Very little taste, toast had no butter and was rubbery cold like it was prepared ahead as did soggy potatoes. Both meals failed to impress and no one asked if we wanted anything or thanked us for coming. Last visit

I’m not too sure why this restaurant is on best of NJs lists honestly. Let me start out with the line to get in. we got there and were met by a very rude host that seemed that we were inconveniencing her and did not want to be there whatsoever. We went up to give our names on got on the list to which they said come back in an hour to check back and we can give you a buzzer at that time. Ok…So we walked around for a little went back they then have us a buzzer. Waited a little and then finally got sat. We were then “met” by our server who was also not in a great mood it seemed. We waited to which seems like a long time as people that sat before after to us got their food before us. Onto the food, we ordered the crab cake Benedict which was average at best. It was kind of cold and….just okay. The amount of crab was nice, I will give them that. We also got an order of gluten free pancakes, which did not come with butter, ala cart syrup and we ordered a side of berries which was $6.50. So, $10 for berries and syrup to add to the pancakes which were $12. They were also….average pancakes. Nothing spectacular. Our server never checked in on us and honestly was quite rude the entire dining experience. I’m pretty upset I wasted 2 and a half hours to dine here. Like I said…. For being on best of NJ lists, not quite sure. Save your time and money on this place.

My wife and I went there for breakfast the day we were heading home from our mini honeymoon after our wedding. The staff was very polite and personable, the prices were reasonable, and the servers were prompt and had great humor. I would DEFINITELY recommend this establishment to anyone that is in their area! ??

Went during the off season so take that into account. Ordered the eggs Benedict, which were a massive disappointment. Overcooked to the point of being inedible. The holondaise sauce was bland. The drinks were actually really good. We had two of their mimosas and both were great. Our fault for not getting pancakes or waffles at a place named the mad batter. We will go back, but will get one of the signatures next time

Was excited to try here based on the good reviews but was a little underwhelmed. Food was ok but nothing special or to rave about. Service was good, place the clean and location was close to where we were so for that alone it’s a nice place for a cocktail and unwinding.

I would Love to share our Amazing Day! Engagement at your beautiful lighthouse. Followed by a delicious celebration. Our brunch was perfect. The service was exceptional. The server was 5 stars. Thank you so much. You made our day! Thank you! Cannot wait to return.

Unfortunately I can’t attest to the food, as we did not get a chance to get that far into our experience. As we walked in and were waiting to put our names in, there was family of five ahead of us that being helped and as we waited to do the same (despite being seen by the staff) a couple walked in behind us and inserted themselves in front us and were seated immediately. When the staff came back and asked how many (there were three) we were told they were no longer taking names to seat (wild considering they were open two additional hours after our arrival). I can understand possibly not being able to be seated but, the arrogant attitude that came from the staff, the willingness to sit a party who came in after us and not willing us to even wait was a weird thing to me. I’ll never be back.
