The “hostess” in the back room on September 23, 2025, was extremely rude

Excellent vegan food options. My mom and I went there 2 days in a row and everything was amazing except the hostess last night 11/20/25. Vicki the hostess had a real attitude towards us. She was unpleasant and rude but besides her everyone else we came across was wonderful. We had Sean Paul as a waiter last night and Jenny Max as our waitress Friday night and both went above and beyond. They were 2 of the best service I ever had going out to eat. I can’t compliment on the regular food but the vegan food was out of this world. The restaurant was clean. I highly recommend Mad Batter. This is now our go to restaurant when we come to Cape May.
Also if you’re going to Mad Batter for vegan food. They have a lot more vegan food on their menu than what the online menu says.

Went there on Friday night for dinner and came back on Saturday night. The service was outstanding. Our server’s Jenny Max and Sean Paul were extremely friendly and outstanding service. A nice variety of Vegan dishes. Both nights the food was absolutely delicious, and plenty of it. Wanted to give it a 5 star rating but Saturday night when we returned the hostess Vicky was unpleasant and very rude. If you’re looking for Vegan dishes. I highly recommend this place.

Our food was very good, but we waited for 10-15 minutes before being served. We could see servers standing in the further ignoring us. We almost got up and left. The food saved the day.

First thing first. We got a corner booth Great music is being played and the vibe is wonderful. Secondly. The service is exceptional. Very kind waitress that made the visit worth it.
Lastly the food was just much better than I thought it would be. We will be back.

Neat place. Interesting art on the wall. They have a drink called the Manmosa. It's a Blue Moon mimosa. It was pretty good, but more than 1, and you better Uber. Mahi was excellent, but the crab ravioli was mediocre and definitely not a good choice if you're really hungry.

We were there for brunch, and it was clearly the best in Cape May. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner during our stay. Dinner was also exceptional. We are going to try to utilize their accommodations on our next visit.

Ok but nothing great. The ‘Canadian bacon’ in the eggs Benedict was basically fat and gristle. Waitress and the breakfast potatoes were good.
I had the grilled cheese which was outstanding and my husband had a pizza which wasn't great. The place is beautiful and fun, the hostess was very nice. Our server mostly ignored us after taking our order which was a bummer. I will definitely go back, I think it may have been just an off day.😊

Great food, great staff. Been coming here for years now and I'll keep coming back. Love the Croustade breakfast. Picture of the mango mimosa after a few sips. Try the MANmosa. ITS FANTASTIC!! If you're in Cape May, this place is a must.

Everyone and their dog heads to the Mad Batter, but I guess there's a reason why. It's not often that I'll visit here because of the wait, but when I do, it's worth it. Well, minus that one time when I was two and my stroller was misplaced. I don't know if I should count that though because I barely remember it. Oh well, mistakes happen. Worth it for a good breakfast!

The wait was unbelievably long, food was mediocre at best, pancakes were tough and dry, and the pizza tasted frozen, it was incredibly loud. The wait time may have been so long because it seemed like the waitress forgot about us, as plenty of tables who came after us got their food first. Had to leave before I finished my meal because the seats my and atmosphere was absolutely atrocious

After many years of visiting Cape May, we finally decided to try the Mad Batter for lunch. The food was delicious! Nachos, Cheeseburger and Veggie Panini. We highly recommend it!
