I'm giving 3 stars only because when you Google pet friendly restaurants in cape may, this place comes up but when we went there on 9/22/25 they told us they were no longer dog friendly. You should really update on Google that you are not longer dog friendly. We came there with our three month old puppy who was in a stroller and they turned us away. The place was dead and several outside tables were available but they refused to take us, so please update your policy on Google....

My husband and I went for dinner at the bar at The Ugly Mug on our first trip to Cape May… The Ugly Mug is one of the top reasons we will return…. The food was fabulous but was made even better by the bartender Joe, he is the main reason we will definitely return to The Ugly Mug… what a working machine…. He was fabulous with a smile even though the place was packed and he works the bar plus the restaurant drink orders…. They are seriously so lucky to have him!

Just landed in Cape May looking for a place to grab a quick bite we stopped at the ugly mug in Cape May. The service was excellent. The crabcakes had so much crab in them that I could not finish them. Their coleslaw is excellent out of a 10 I would give this old-time Kate Bay Restaurant 10 out of 10.
