Food was plentiful. Hot. And fresh. The potato salad tasted definitely homemade. Fried whiting was seasoned and hot. Mac n cheese could've been creamier but was seasoned well and hot. Great portions.
Our server was friendly and helpful.
Uptown was delicious.
Would highly recommend

Literally the best type of soul food, Caribbean style food. Itβs like a unique diner. Love it, would try again!

I've never had bad food, always delicious!! The price is not cheap but the food is worth it. There is a dinning room but very small and could use some renovations but it's clean.

I learned of the spot today. I decided to go for breakfast since I was craving salmon cakes. To my discust, one of my salmon cakes was saturated with grease. I used napkins, a whole lot, on either side to soak it up. The home fries were sort of greasy but nothing extreme. I told the waiter to let the chef know about the salmon cakes. I honestly expected them to take a little something off my bill. They did not. I feel as though that was a slap in the face. I may or may not return. The only reason why I would return is because they have a separate bar section that seems like it could be a good vibe in the evening

Iβve tried to support this soul food spot multiple times, but the customer service has been consistently disappointing. The girl who answers the phone at the front desk is extremely rude, talks over customers, doesnβt listen, and argues instead of trying to resolve simple issues. Ordering food shouldnβt feel like a confrontation.
Whatβs even more concerning is that after having a disagreement over the phone, my food quality noticeably declined on future visits. It honestly felt intentional. The food was prepared poorly, tasted off, and lacked the care it once had. It makes you uncomfortable as a customer when you feel like youβre being treated differently because of a prior interaction.
Additionally, the second, thinner girl working there has also been rude and dismissive. A restaurantβs atmosphere starts with customer service, and unfortunately, this place falls short in that area.
I truly hope management addresses these issues, because the food has potential β but service and professionalism matter just as much.

Food was delicious prices were not. Everything was a LA carte. Teacup of coffee was $4.00. Didn't appreciate the rap music playing in the background. A LA carte breakfast menu? $35 is too much to pay for breakfast for one.
