Carvel, located in Clifton's Athenia section, is a standard ice cream shop known for its custom orders and exceptional service. The store offers a variety of amenities and maintains a smooth operation even when lines are long, such as on Wednesdays. A small sheet cake was ordered for pick up, which was quick and easy. The vanilla/chocolate swirl ice cream was airy, served in a larger-than-expected cone. The worker was pleasant, making it a satisfactory experience. The locals next door hog up the parking lot, and the owner is just too damn nice to enforce his own business’s parking rules, making getting into the parking lot a hassle, but it is a great place to take the kids for some typical Carvel ice cream. The building may not be there in another 10 years without some serious maintenance. The decorating skills are excellent.
