Worst place, do not go!!!!! They charge for everything. They don’t substitute. Service is terrible. They are mean and rude. They messed up the order and the quality of the food was poor. They burnt the burgers and gave it to us the bagels were also burnt. They gave egg white instead of the eggs we asked for. We asked for the a second cappuccino it near came we had to ask them a second time. And at the beginning, we asked him to split the check and they did not.

My son came down with a serious case of food poisoning the morning after coming here for dinner. Spent the whole day in the ER for IV fluids. Secondly, the hostess during the week is plain nasty. I have moved from the area and am okay not coming back here.

Have been here about 5 times now. Whenever I need to head into Manhattan I swing by on the way home. Great food and the bakery items are insane. Every dessert you can imagine. The soup is always great. 5 stars all the way. It's a busy place Whenever I've shown up so be prepared to wait. But it's worth the wait.

First time going there with family. I really like the gentleman who was attending the customers. He was like a host but more. He helped the diner a lot. The only thing bad was that it gets pretty packed and not enough space for customers. The parking lot needs to be redone and more space for cars.

The food was excellent, the service was great Even though the place was packed as usual, the quality of the food is top notch and the place is spotlessly clean.

Allwood Diner never misses! Whether it’s breakfast, a wrap or a salad for lunch, portions are huge and flavor is awesome. The salads are large so you can really split in 2 meals or share. Buffalo chicken wrap is always solid especially since they panini press the wrap so it doesn’t fall apart! And dessert is incredible - the chocolate Oreo bomb ball - chef’s kiss.

I am a very easy-going person and usually always go with the flow. But yesterday I just couldn’t. Our experience here was horrible. The hostess seemed annoyed that we wanted to eat there. I don’t understand why, because the place closed at 11 and there were many others there still eating as well. She was rude, and I didn’t feel so welcome, and I'd never had that experience there before. I felt rushed, and I understand that employees sometimes get tired and just want to clock out and go home, or they stop seating in certain places at a certain times, but that isn’t the customers' problem, and they shouldn’t be treated so poorly. They should have kindly told us they couldn’t take us. I asked my friends if they were sure it was still a good idea to stay, and they said yes, there was enough time and the food would be served fresh etc, but I don’t know if the owners or cooks of the place changed, but the food was not good and was also overpriced. On top of that, the cups were dirty and not washed properly. We have a video of our friend taking a napkin and cleaning the cup, and you can see all of whatever’s leftover from the cup on there. 3 out of the 4 cups were poorly washed, and you can see how cloudy the cups looked. We ordered two waters and two sprites.

Subpar food & discourteous front of house & management.Deserves a 0 star rating.*worth the lengthy read*My best friends of 20yrs & I have grown up & lived in Clifton since kids. Every so often we hang out & pick somewhere to eat. This time, we agreed on the Allwood diner since its walking distance & closes @11pm. We arrived about 9:45p & rather than greeted, were told that we may be seated but need to order now as they’re closing. We agreed & sat. Our drinks were brought to us & we all looked at each other confused, the cups were dirty & we used our napkins to wipe off a brown film. We placed our food order & 2, of the 4 meals ordered were not edible. My friend couldn’t eat her nachos at all & my panini, well the bread smelled & tasted like old plastic. The Taylor ham & cheese & chicken fingers had no complaints. We asked for to go boxes because we felt guilty leaving food behind but contemplated a few times on just leaving it so they’d see how dissatisfied we were. We got our bill & proceeded to the front to pay . The front of house employee took our check & my card & asked how everything was. Wanting to be honest, we explained that we were actually very disappointed & growing up in Clifton we’ve separately all came many times before & don’t understand what happened. She very rudely, and aggressively began to tell us that we were incorrect on our experience. The way she responded towards me caused my friend to add, that the way she speaks to customers is not only unprofessional, but disrespectful. The manager then was called. Which, unfortunately, was a waste of our time as he stood there with no regard to our dirty and inedible experience, and completely unbothered by our complaint of how his employee was handling the situation. He stood there while she continued to debate with us about our poor experience. We should have read the poor reviews prior to spending (& tipping our sever accordingly as it wasn’t his fault), about $120. Based on other reviews, it’s evident the management leaves a generic apologetic response to all complaints. We can all confidently say that’ll be our, & our families, last time returning.
