First time for my bestie and I, and the last. We decided to try this place after seeing a video on instagram. We were intrigued seeing it was a Mediterranean restaurant and we never tried this type of food before in the area.

My bestie got steak kabobs that she asked for medium well, which ended up being medium rare. They weren't bad, but keep in mind not being cooked right is part of this review. I decided to get chicken franchaise as it's my most favorite italian dish and it was on the menu.

My chicken franchaise ended up not being cooked right. The chicken was definitely not cooked enough, so much so it tasted off and doing more investigation with cutting into it, it definitely needed more time to cook so i decided not to eat it any furher after about three bites. Because of my fatal mistake of eating those three bites, I ended up getting food poison in the middle of the night. Please make sure to cook meat properly for anyone else! Food poison is no joke!

My only mistake as someone whose nonconfrontational was not complaining, I should of.

Have been coming to Yasmeen for some years. The food is always consistently excellent, the environment inside/outside both amazing, the service is excellent too….the same experienced staff and management. No other Mediterranean place comes even close.

We once again celebrated a birthday there last night and It was just as amazing an experience as it has been over the past few years ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️!!

There was a weird couple sitting next to us that kept glaring rudely and switching spots to continue staring (a bunch of zios) we didnt feel comfortable eating next to them.... Also the valet was kinda rude telling us where to step and go as if we knew the procedure and came here before but it was our first time....the recommended dessert dissapointed however the rest of the food ordered was good, with the exception of one dish coulda been better quality... Also it's pretty in the outside seating but thats it.

first time here and the last. wasn’t even that busy and I came in with a group, my order was never served and waiter didn’t realize it was missing until he came around and checked if everything was “ok” told me it was given to another table. I was busy with my baby so I lost my appetite after waiting 40 minutes.

Beautiful restaurant with amazingly delicious authentic Middle Eastern food. Great service and beautiful decor . I highly recommend it!

I visited Yasmeen in Clifton, NJ after a friend saw an ad on Instagram. I was glad they could accommodate us when I called around 6:00 PM, as the man on the phone said there were plenty of open tables. When we arrived, I noticed several open two-person tables on the main floor, but we were seated upstairs where there was no one else dining and no waiter present. The hostess claimed they were fully booked, which was confusing given how many tables were clearly available.

A man—who didn’t introduce himself—brought out pita bread and radishes. It wasn’t until 15 minutes later that a waitress came and said they actually did have available tables, so we were moved downstairs. Even then, we were seated all the way in the back near the kitchen, passing multiple open tables in the front of the restaurant. We stayed for over 1.5 hours, and those front tables remained empty the entire time.

To make things worse, there was a fly that kept hovering around our table during the meal, which made it hard to relax and enjoy our food.

As for the food: the baba ghanoush tasted off—almost spoiled—which was especially disappointing since it’s one of my favorite dishes. The appetizers (sanbousik and fried halloumi) were okay, however, the entrees, especially the chicken chops, were excellent—very flavorful. Desserts were also good.

One thing that stood out and felt uncomfortable: the only other Black couple dining was also seated next to us in the back, while many front tables remained open throughout the evening. It made us wonder about how seating decisions were being made.

Overall, the main dishes were good, but the service, seating experience, and atmosphere fell short. Instagram made this place look much better than it is. I will also shared my honest experience on Instagram so others can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

My first time trying Mediterranean food and I’ll definitely be back! 🫶🏼 The place is beautiful and the food delicious — everything is grilled, which makes it super healthy. They offer a variety of salad and vegan options too.

There’s also a nice outdoor patio with seating, and you’re allowed to smoke hookah both inside and outside. The atmosphere is great, and the prices are very reasonable. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a flavorful meal!

Amazing food and hookah. My new favorite spot!
Hummus with meat and yasmeen fries were good. Mixed grill was so flavorful and juicy. Dessert was okay, did not like the Osmalia at all but creme brûlée was pretty good. Iced coffees were not great.
