This is our favorite jjajjangmyun place. It’s homey, authentic, and really good for a great price - kind of a steal actually. We’re Korean and grew up with this kind of food - we go out of our way to come here. They also have a stamp card for jjajjangmyun - really don’t know how they make money. It’s so worth it.

I only ate here thrice and have had takeout twice here. The only thing I'd like to say is that the Jjampong, Jajangmyeon, and Tangsuyuk were good. It was worth the experience and the portions were well made.

However, some of the servers had special treatment towards their own people. When I asked for a recommendation besides the three I mentioned, one of them laughed at me. I assumed she couldn't give me an answer, but a sign of miscommunication or disregard for my concern. The atmosphere was decent, but can get hot easily. I guess they are conserving air conditioning, but it would've been better to open it for the sake of customer satisfaction. Likewise, a male server didn't even dare to clean up the floor after I accidentally spilled water on the floor. He flat out ignored it without realizing how someone could've slipped. I don't know how they could pass their required inspections like this.

Overall, I haven't been to Ewha Won for 3 or so months. I wished they could fix their customer service a bit more. Maybe then I will try and come back.

Had a really disappointing dinner here. Their 깐풍기 (spicy fried chicken) was soggy and the interior could use some updating. It may be a bit further drive for some people but Hong Ban Jang is way better.

Not the best Korean-Chinese restaurant in the Bergen county out there, but gave 4 stars for the convenience location it deserves. Closter is definitely up and coming region for new Korean restaurants.

Not sure how they’ll survive with Ah Suh Won in tenafly (my favorite), and about-to-open Hong Ban Jang in Northvale, but hopefully, they’ll update the interior and thrive along with other Korean-Chinese in the area.

The taste of food is important, but service is even more important. They are in the service industry, but they don't know what is the service.

I used to visit this place often a few years ago when I worked nearby. I recently came back for the first time in a while, and it seems like the chef has changed. The food tastes completely different from what I remember — it’s really disappointing. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning. So sad…😭

About eight years ago, I went there with an acquaintance. I ordered ganjjajang (black bean noodles with separately served sauce). At the time, I saw a note on the menu that said to let them know if the sauce wasn't enough. So while eating, I asked for a bit more sauce because it was lacking. Then the staff went to the kitchen and came back saying the chef told me to go buy more if I wanted it... The server lady was so embarrassed she didn’t know what to do... I was completely dumbfounded—it was such a humiliating and insulting experience. I was treated like a beggar. I never went back after that.

But I went again recently... They seem to view customers as nothing more than machines that hand over money. Whether it's jjajangmyeon or jjamppong, there's absolutely nothing special about it. I heard they opened a new location in Tenafly, so I’ll try going there instead. I'm glad—this place used to have a monopoly, but now there are options. This place deserves to go out of business.
