Menu selection was much different from my last experience dining there. Not sure I will return for dinner.
This was my first time coming to Stern & Bow. I was always hesitant to come as I am a vegetarian thinking there would be minimal items for me to choose from and my son being a picky eater. We went last night for my partner's birthday (who's been there before). He said the fish was very fresh and delicious. My son and I split a pizza which was fantastic and a decent size. I also shared a chopped kale salad with my partner (it was a big portion. I could have eaten 10 servings of that salad. It was so delicious, perfectly dressed, the flavors meshed so well, perfect texture :chef's kiss: our waitress was also amazing. She was so sweet to our child and attentive to our needs while we dined. The mixed drinks were also so delicious 10/10 would dine again!
The service from the time you enter in your car by the valet to the time of your departure was impeccable. The food from appetizers( the tuna tartare and calamari were delicious) to the main entree ( filet mignon and the shrimp carbonara) were exquisite to the dessert ( affogato? I think it is ice cream and espresso) were amazing! A special shout out to Efren who made our dining experience remarkable! Would highly recommend!
Great dining as usual. I usually have the pasta with seafood. Was very good as usual. Others in our party had Bronzino which was fresh and delicious. One person had the Hanger steak and another the salmon and were very pleased. All the appetizers and deserts were enjoyed.
Carlos, our server, was incredible. He is old school in the best of ways! The food is great but almost outshined by the warm service. Thanks guys!
Good place for romantic dinner in Closter, NJ.

First time visiting this place after passing by multiple times. Very nice experience.
The main reason to visit was to try their pizzas. I want to discover a great pizza place around my area.
The pizza sauce, cheese and basil 🌿 were very fresh and tasty. The only reason I gave four stars is because I was expecting a better dough (texture). More fluffy and less crunchy.
The wine recommendation was great. I really like it.
The bread and salad were also very fresh and tasty.
Delicious dessert.
My wife liked the mussels as well. I don’t eat that. 😁
I recommend this place and I will be back.

This was my first time at Stern & Bow celebrating a wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic and the staff equally so. They know how to treat their customers. Great place.
Very good appetizers and main courses, nice portions. Dessert was very good but very small for $13 Overall very good restaurant with nice cocktails. Prices a bit high but honestly similar to others. I will return.....
I went to Stern & Bow in Closter last night to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and I absolutely loved it. The space has elevated décor, a lively vibe with a DJ, and incredible food. The oysters, wood-fired pizza, and steak were all exceptional, perfectly paired with beautifully crafted cocktails that (literally) lit up the table. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — our waiter even sat with us to connect and walk us through the menu, which made the experience feel so personal.
The whole night was polished, inviting, and celebratory. A seamless mix of luxury dining and fun atmosphere. I have to take my Morkie, Winston Paul back here for brunch as they are dog friendly outside. He would love it.
