The food is very fresh, and the portions are nicely sized. I highly recommend the soft shell crab (I’ve tried a lot and this is by far the best). We also tried the sushi rolls, specifically the Tropicana roll and spicy salmon, which both were delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are extremely attentive and nice. Great restaurant, looking forward to coming back! :D
I’m convinced the chefs here are actually deep-sea diving in the kitchen because the fish is that fresh.
The presentation is wild—every single special roll comes on its own plate. Honestly, I felt like I should’ve been wearing a tuxedo and paying Manhattan prices. It’s got major NYC Michelin-star energy but in the middle of Bergen County.

Best sushi in Bergen County! The fish quality is excellent and space is intimate. John, the owner, is kind and caring about his food, restaurant and customers! Hanamo is my go-to spot for sushi.
