I would highly recommend and try this place. I just had a chicken burrito and chicken quesadilla. It was very good and the birria tacos are also very good.

Was looking to try something new and the food didn't disappoint. It reminded me of a chipotle or Moe's but the food not only tasted fresher the burrito I ordered was STUFFED and not all rice. Will be back without a question.

Just moved to Cranford… tried this place a few times delivery and takeout - very inconsistent. A few months back I complained to the manager that I was charged for an empanada I ordered but did not receive. He did “nothing” …did not even offer to reimburse me. The last few times I ordered food it came cold and honestly not sure what was in the burritos last night - but certainly not what we ordered. Paid extra for guacamole in it - not a drop to be found in either burrito. Last night will be the last time I will be ordering from there. If anyone had a suggestion on a a good place to get burritos I’m all ears!

So nice, I ate here twice in the same day! Their super tasty Birria Taco filled with deeply flavored beef stew and traditional fixings comes with a dipping stew-based sauce. It's excellent and I suggest getting at least 2 for a meal. Then for veggies, their Esquites- roasted corn w/cotija cheese, lime juice, mayo, salt, chili powder is addictively funkalicious and a-maize-ing! This spot provides real Mexican flavors right in New Jersey!NOTES/TIPS:**Okay street parking right in front, high turnover.**Not much seating inside- just 3 stools by a counter-style table. I thought the food here was excellent. Service was super prompt & friendly and the portion size was huge. Most importantly, the taste (and service) was better than Chipotle; and I don’t think it’s close.

I ordered both a spinach & chicken empanada, as well as a chicken carnitas quesadilla. I could've done without the spinach & cheese tbh but the quesadilla & churros were great. The empanadas paired really well with the chipotle Mayo. I don't think I'd come back intentionally, but I'd stop by if I'm in the area for a quesadilla.

If you're in the Cranford area DO NOT MISS OUT on this gem!! First of all the manager and staff are so wonderful and friendly - it's a small place but feels so homey and welcoming. The manager provided so many recommendations inclusive to my vegetarian diet! He provided a sample horchata for taste and my goodness that was so refreshing and fresh. If I wasn't lactose intolerant I'd probably take a whole cup for that refreshing taste!! They also have 7 flavors (and 2 more incoming) of the original glass Jarritos soda. There were so many choices, I settled on Guava - it did not disappoint!He also recommended the churros so I got a couple, each bite was not too sugary which I enjoyed. I also got a spinach and feta empanada and the manager told me people rave about their Chipotle mayo side. He recommended I break the empanada in half and eat with the chipotle mayo to really enhance the experience. I broke it in half, and took an initial bite without the sauce and it was so good! When I dipped in the chipotle mayo sauce it took me to a completely different experience - its a little hot which paired wonderfully with the savory flavor of the empanada. i will definitely come back especially for that spinach and feta empanada + chipotle mayo
Fairly new, very clean, and the owner and his family are an absolute delight. The selection of empanadas was great, and I went with the steak and cheese as well as a spinach and cheese. A good amount of filling, the shell was crispy, and great taste. No parking lot so you need to park on the street.

It took me a little time to find this place because Google maps kept bringing me to the corner of the block -- pro tip to walk further down. The restaurant is across from Breams(?). Overall had a good experience at California Burritos! Owner recommended me Jarritos Pineapple which was like a yummy pineapple carbonated soda. I ordered an empanada with steak sirloin and cheese, a crunchy cheesy stack with barbacoas and churros. Only thing was the stack wasn't very crunchy and felt like it had more rice than meat, and the churros weren't very hot or fresh -- but overall everything else was good! Would come again for a quick bite if I'm ever in the area. :)
