I’ve been coming to Mr. J’s for more years than I can remember, it’s a true staple of downtown Cranford. Everything has always been great: breakfast, sloppy joes, subs, and even the daily specials. I’ll be a patron of Mr. J’s for as long as they’re open.

Enjoyed breakfast with hubby today. I had the Commuter and he had a pastrami Sloppy Joe. Everything was delicious! crispy bacon, cheesy fries the way they should be- not soggy, coffee was strong, and the service was warm ?

RUDEST woman at the register. Screaming and complaining at my friend and I since we didn't order together. If you care for quality customer service don't come here. She definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed and looked like it too.

Just what a deli should be. Consistently friendly and attentive staff. There's no better sloppy joe (the Jersey kind ) around. Layers upon layers of deliciousness somehow perfectly balanced. And their breakfast sandwiches...just yes! I hate when a roll is too hard, and theirs is always the right amount of soft. Yay for Mr. J's!

Wonderful staff, owner is incredibly kind and caring about your experience. This is a must visit. We go in as often as we can. The signature sandwiches are wonderful and the specials I’ve tried have all been delicious. I ordered todays special posted below and it was a delicious well balanced sandwich full of flavor. I would order this sandwich easily once a week if I could.
This establishment use to be one of the best lunch spots in Union County. Not anymore. The deli was sold by the long time owners and the quality just went down the drain. The Sloppy Joe was always a delicious house specialty and now it is just awful. They put hardly any Turkey or Roast Beef on the sandwich and it’s all bread and coleslaw. It’s pathetic. The burger was also bland and way over priced. We will never go back.

I had a bacon Cheeseburger from this place. A Friend of mine order food for all his co workers anything they wanted off the menu I kept it nice and simple. Man when I tell you that burger was delicious and well seasoned, with no condiments absolutely delicious. This place definitely earned my business

Best of all The owner Angelo is the nicest person you’ll ever meet and his amazing staff are top notch. Highly recommend this to everyone! Mr. J’s is a must have! Support local!
