Great location. Good covid practices. Outdoor dining and friendly staff. Great, authentic Irish food and atmosphere. Nice menu with many choices and great kid's menu.

I really like the Shepherds Pie. A bust after that. Burger had a lot of seasoning that I coud not taste the beef. The so called popular Apple Tart first came burnt and bitter. A replacement looked alot better with the pastry shell sauce and a big scoup of ice cream but there we no apples. Is that how it's supposed to be served? I'm puzzed. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

They had a large outdoor seating area completely covered by a tent. As a vegetarian, their dinner menu was very friendly, but their lunch menu was.. They had an excellent sweet potato veggie burger (they also have a traditional veggie burger). They also had an omelet. They were also tolerant of young children and menu adjustments. I will definitely go there for lunch again.

It was so nice to go to an authentic Irish bar in NJ and not have it feel like a pure piss-take! Delicious food and great drinks. Super friendly staff and a lovely owner who makes all the guests feel special. If I lived closer, I’d be here every day!

Sunday lunch here at noon. I was the first customer and got a table right in front of the fireplace. Had the Kilkenny cream ale and an all Ireland ?? burger. My wife had the lamb burger and we started it all of with some nachos. One of the best burgers in the area for sure. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. I will return here many times!

Nice IRISH bar. With the expanded outside seating in back, it is easier to get seated. Owner is very supportive of community. Encourage all to make this a regular stop .

The food was pretty bad. Had potatoe skins for appetizers and they were so dry and hard. Husband got a burger and they mistakenly made a lamb burger well done when asked for irish burger medium rare. My friend got a burger asked for medium rare and was well done. Just a very disappointing dinner. Won't be going back any time soon.

This was my first time dining indoors at a restaurant in over 15 months and honestly, I want a re-do. Some colleagues and I finally felt comfortable meeting in person, so we arranged to meet up for dinner/drinks at the Kilkenny House after work. I found this restaurant off Yelp, as I was looking for an enjoyable mid-priced restaurant that had good reviews and wasn't too far from any of us. We ordered calamari and the artichoke dip as shared appetizers and they were good. Not mind-blowing, but tasty and warm, especially with cold beer. The entrees, however, were a bit disappointing. I ordered the garden pasta, and for $16, I wish I had bough the ingredients to make it at home. The whole dish was too salty right from the first bite, without adding anything. The spinach was good, the sundried tomatoes a bit dry/chewy. I would've overlooked the price tag if it wasn't so overwhelmingly salty. One coworker ordered a burger that was delivered after the rest of our plates. Our server was kind and honest, admitting that there had been a mix-up in the kitchen, and that was totally fine. But when it came up it looked so bare and sad, not juicy at all. My colleague ate half and left the rest. My other coworker ordered a steak and while he seemed to enjoy it, he later told me it wasn't good and he didn't like it at all. My partner ordered a tri-tip steak (special of the day) and said it was fine, but a bit expensive for the quality. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially after all the positive reviews on Google and Yelp. I really wanted to have a tasty, fun dinner with my colleagues and the Kilkenny House didn't really lend itself to that. It's possible that the staff/kitchen just had a rough or off day--that happens, and it's understandable. But it was disappointing, especially for the money we dropped on it. If I come back in the future, it will only be for the bar/draft options and appetizers. PS. I almost forgot! The Covid-19 precautions made me a bit uncomfortable. They had large fans for air circulation, which is a great idea, but they were all on the floor and not standing fans. So they were circulating the air around our feet. Since we know Covid-19 is spread through droplets, air circulation is not super helpful if it's not circulating the air at standing or sitting-level. Some employees (servers, bartenders, bussers) were wearing masks, but not all of them. Others had them under their chins. I was super thankful for the employees wearing masks, but with all the employees interacting, a mixed mask response is pretty useless--they might as well not be wearing them at all. (Yes, I'm aware NJ lifted the mask mandate. Sadly, that decision was based more on politics than public health policy. I saw this as someone working in STEM!)

The restaurant was very accommodating in taking us without a reservation on Mother's Day. Tables were spaced out with barriers, I particularly liked the barriers for bar seating but that is for another visit. We had a great lunch. I had the mussels in white wine sauce and mom had a burger. Service was on point. Overall a very nice quick Mother's Day Brunch.
