I had been coming to Golden East for over 20 years and was disappointed when the restaurant owners retired. The new owners did not last long, and the restaurant closed. I was in the shopping center today and saw a “Grand Re-Opening” Banner across the restaurant. I parked my car and walked in to be greeted by the new owner, Ann’s sister who worked there for years. I had a lunch special and the food was as tasty as before. Before closing, Golden East was rated as the number 1 restaurant in East Brunswick. The food is excellent and the prices are low.

I was not disappointed. The menu has all of the classic dishes and at a reasonable price. It may actually be the best restaurant in town.

This is a small restaurant in a non-descript shopping center on Rte 18 in East Brunswick. I would not have considered eating here had we not eaten here previously and were it not for the positive reviews. Food and service are excellent. We had a great meal and great value. Do wish the restaurant was a bit larger but that is a small complaint. Definitely would return.

Had my favorite, Chicken with Asparagus and it was spectacular as always. Subbed fried rice for $2 more...so worth it. I always ask for less salt, less oil onand they are happy to accommodate. Been eating here for over 20 years and still the best Chinese around!
