Went to my cousin’s house for our yearly pool party and she had Avellino’s truck come and cater the party. It was awesome! The pizza’s were delicious as if you were ordering at the restaurant. They were so accommodating and had many different varieties of pizza that they made to order on the catering truck. It was a fun experience and I would definitely recommend them for catering.

Soppressata & sharp Provolone panini. Substituted the long hots for sundried tomatoes (would've ❤️ the 🌶 but stomach doesn't always agree these days 😑). Sandwich was worth the wait and made with authentic Italian ❤️. I would've paid more for the Sandwich but, glad I didn't have to. Avellino's is a staple in East Hanover for over 35 year and the family even longer. Love going here and being reminded of my youth.

Nice place. Great atmosphere. Great location. Staff was friendly. Polite. Only downside is the food. I wish it could have been more firm. It was a little sloppy and also the fella who handled my food wore no gloves while grabbing my chicken sandwich and continued to cut it in half and wrap it with no gloves or any kind of covering whatsoever. I found that to be a little bit gross.

The food was amazing, heavenly sauce, and amazing service. Highly recommend!
A really great Italian restaurant. Food is authentic and tastes great. Definitely try the wood fired pizza you'll not regret it! When weather is nice you can sit outside to enjoy a nice Italian experience.
Five stars across the board! We have eaten from their food truck. The pizza is amazing! fresh, hot, delicious! The team of dad and daughter are the best as well!
The lady who helped us was very pleasant so this review has nothing to do with the staff. The dining area was nice and clean but thats were the positives end! The food that we actually got was good but unfortunately there wasn't enough to even enjoy it. My sandwich had like 2 slices of prosciutto and two very small pieces of fresh mozzarella. My wife had a small bowl of pasta fagioli which was good but again very small portion. We were charged 7 DOLLARS for two small plastic juice tumblers of seltzer and 3.50 for a plain slice of pizza. The slice of pizza was the only thing that wasn't good, it tasted like it was out for days and dried up. To sum it up, food is good but portions way to small and prices are ridiculous.
Follow up on March 3, 2025 to original review. Thank you for your quick response. Just to clarify a few things, first thing is yes I am from this area, within minutes of your place actually. And yes prices have went up for sure, but we as the consumer make up the increase plus some as you know. We were in the pizza business for over 40 years. We were on Broome st in Manhattan, on the boardwalk in seaside heights as well as two shops in northern NJ so we are very familiar with how things work. So when you say the beverage prices are par for the area I beg to differ. When you purchase a bottle of seltzer yes perhaps but fountain carbonated water in plastic tumblers is a whole different thing. But a the end of the day your place is clean, you have pleasant staff and even the best hitters strike out so maybe it was a bad day so I will be back to give it another try. Ciao
Pizza, purchased two slices the were dried. After being heated they tasted like paper. #2 worst pizza of all times.
This place is great. Such an old school vibe. Felt right at home. Food is always great.
We have been ordering from Avellinos for about six months. Yesterday we decided to try something other than their pizza. The calamari.
Unfortunately this was some of the saddest calamari I've ever had. Not only did we have to wait almost 10 extra minutes after our pick up time, it was not breaded or fried the way calamari fritti is supposed to be. I'm not exactly sure what they did to make it - it had the lightest coating of flour but it didn't look or taste fried.
I was really hoping to get other food besides pizza here. But we'll just stick to that from now on. (The pizza is very good!)
