Three generations of family visiting from out of state went to the East Hanover Diner for breakfast in late November. Everyone including the children, were delighted with their meals. Our daughter ordered the matzah brei omelet and after my husband tried that, he had us return the next day to order it for his breakfast. We also returned for dinner, and everyone was happy with their meals. There was a wide range of choices and the service every time we went was excellent.
Terrible service, waitress kept walking away and proceeded to get our order wrong. There was also a piece of hair in the food.
Needed something quick as I had just driven 3.5 hours into the area, it was late and wanted something more than fast food. Ordered online. The food was prepared and ready at allotted time. My daughter and I ordered the gobbler panini and Philly cheesesteak to go. The food was an insult. Truly. The gobbler panini was not even close to what a panini is. It was served in some sort of tasteless, cold flatbread. It was not grilled. The turkey was dry and there was no gravy on the side. The cheesesteak was grizzle and had no cheese or peppers. It was basically slop served in to go boxes. I cannot recommend this establishment.
We arrived on the evening of January 4. Not busy. Excellent customer service. Very friendly. Debbie, our waitress went above and beyond the call of duty during service. Unbelievable menu. We ordered Shrimp avocado quesadillas, onion rings, Cheese ravioli with two different sauces per our request, and Chicken Parmigiana! Nice portions. Ravioli had meatball in center. Cannot say enough about the quality of this meal. Fantastic! Real Italian! I was stationed in Italy. Restaurant was clean and practiced safe pandemic practices. Please read my Breakfast review. You won’t believe it, I didn’t. Really, hats off for Dinner Service.
Very riendly service, endless choices--the menu is pages ling; food was average diner fare; place needs updating
Had the pleasure of grabbing a burger there late night service was great food was spot on big thick burger juicy cooked to perfection season great fries definitely recommend this diner to others
The food was mediocre at best and overpriced. The service was poor with an argumentative waitress and an ignorant shift manager. Deceptive menus offering subsitutions on items in sections were subsitutions were not allowed. So you ask for a subsitution and when the bill comes you get an additional charge because that subsitution was for items on a different part of the menu. The old bait and switch. Caveat emptor. Don't waste your time and money here.
Extensive menu freshly prepared. Crepes, omelets, Benedicts. Acai bowl. we had them all. they were all great. Notably, they do not bathe the food in salt. Delicious on their own.
First time visit to the East Hanover Diner. I arrived early enough to order from the Early Bird Menu. Wide variety to choose from. I went with salad, chicken soup, and stuffed tilapia with rice pudding for dessert. All of the dishes were good. Service was a bit rushed. The soup and salad came out together instead of one at a time. Next, I was only half way through the salad when the tilapia came out. The waiter did not ask if I wanted to finish the salad, He just scooped it up. On the plus side, the portion of stuffed tilapia was so huge I took half home for lunch the next day.
