Yum! This was my first time eating food from Lipz and what a delightful find! So much flavor in the food. Found Lipz online earlier this week because I decided to order in and was looking for new delivery places online. Didn't do it that night (change of plans), but the menu looked so good I decided a few days later to drive over and look inside, and to order take-out for my husband and me.I ordered salmon patties (comes with 4) and two sides; mac 'n' cheese and spinach. As an afterthought I remembered they had plantains and ordered them, too. For my husband, curried chicken, rice and peas, and mac 'n' cheese.Lipz has new owners - a 2-sister team. Let me say Miss Older Sister can COOK! She gave me a taste of the cooked spinach before I decided to order it as one of my sides. I like spinach but don't like it plain. My heavens, it was so tasty and not like any other cooked spinach I've ever had. It may be the best spinach I've ever eaten and I am not joking. It was so savory. Am thinking umami is the right word, although it's annoyingly overused, but that was it. Outstandingly delish!The salmon patties were surprisingly tasty. They'd run out of red snapper and salmon and she offered whitefish, but it didn't strike me as what I wanted, so I asked if there was any other fish. She said, "Do you like salmon patties?" and it occurred to me they might be bland, but decided to give them a try. There were 4 in the order, and the flavor was excellent, not overdone but tasty and complemented the salmon. The "special sauce" (their own special sauce) she included was so good as an accent that I dipped each bite (except the first - wanted to taste the salmon patty by itself) into it. Made the salmon patties taste even better than the first, plain bite!Finally, the plantains were caramelized to perfection. Luscious without being overly sweet. I may dream about them.My husband rated his curried chicken a 7 out of 10. He thought the portion was a bit small. If he'd felt the portion was large he'd have given it an 8. I thought the portions were fine but he always looks for value and when eating out prefers large portions. He thought the mac 'n' cheese was excellent. Because I didn't bother to heat mine up when I got home and it was only warm (not their fault, it just cooled off on the drive) it was good but not outstanding (to me). I think eating in is the only way to eat mac 'n' cheese from Lipz in order to maintain the temperature. It definitely looked homemade and had lots of real cheese. My husband enjoyed his rice and peas, too. He is a big fan of chicken and they have j*** chicken and other flavors, too. Also, they offer several sauces besides the special sauce. I don't like "hot" and didn't try any of the other sauces. There is BBQ sauce, though, which would probably complement the chicken.By the time I got there (about 4:15 p.m.) they were out of several things on their own menu. I'd previously looked at the menu online, not realizing it was from the prior owners, so the actual menu at the restaurant didn't have all of the same things mentioned on the web site. Am glad I went in person because I could look at the menu and ask questions about the food. There is a shrimp sandwich on the menu I'm itching to try and will be back soon to give it a whirl. Probably will try different sides and am definitely going to order the plantains again. Go! GO! If you like savory, home-style cooking, Lipz will surely hit the spot. Once again -- YUM!

This is the right place to be, it has everything in it; great Dominican flavor Latin Soul (Food.) Just amazing and the Owner and staff are very nice. Un lugar muy típico Dominicano y para todo el público en general. La comida es exquisita, muy higiénico y saludable. Con una atención espectacular por parte de todo el personal. Les invito a qué lo visiten.

The flavors aren’t truly Dominican style maybe owners changed. The flavor is just not there. I gave 4 stars because it’s an easy Togo process but def need that Dominican flavor in the food...
