“First time here and the customer service was outstanding! Everyone was so polite and friendly. I ordered 9 of their sides because I don’t meat and here’s my honest review. I’m glad they were open because I didn’t cook this year.

Rice and peas- needed salt
Mac and cheese- not creamy enough but decent
Cabbage- it was good
Okra- it was ok
String beans- delicious
Collards- delicious
Dressing- 👎🏽 taste like stove top stuffing
Mashed potatoes- delicious
Candy yams- delicious”

“This is my favorite store of all time. I feel like I’m visiting family when I stop by to get my favorite meals from them. I truly suggest everyone to stop by and get a feel of what I am describing.

“Had Liberian food today and was so excited. I was headed to a different restaurant but saw this Liberian restaurant with great reviews so I went. I’m part African and I want to try all the cuisines from Africa and this was my first try for Liberia ??. I guess maybe they did not see me as African so there wasn’t much attention to me and I asked for a couple of things from the menu but they didn’t have it. End of convo. The one lady just shook her head and turned away and walked off. lol..but don’t be turned off! -Customer service looks different in diff parts of the world and I won’t take stars off for that- I told the lady I want to try something here so what do you have and explain it to me. Can you help me with the menu so she did come around and explain almost everything to me and I ended up getting the cassava leaf because I’ve heard so much about it. Let me tell you. It’s absolutely delicious. Flavorful. Filling. Wow! There was so much mixed meat in it from cow foot, chicken, beef. (I don’t eat cow foot but the other meat was great) And she assured me there’s no pork in their restaurant. The Scotch pepper ?️ sauce on the side was sooo good and hot. The rice went well and they had Vimto soda. The ladies came to me to see if I liked it after and as a first timer I was hooked! I also got a slice of their rice bread that is similar to banana bread. It was so good and spiced. I would definitely eat here again.”

“I came cross this place randomly and have been coming here religiously for the last few months. Its a no frills place with great wings. Always hot and made to order. The staff are very kind as well. Def swing by if you’re in the area or you can even call for pickup.”

“I had a great meal served to me in house. the choices were steamed or grilled for my sea bass. I sat by the window and enjoyed the "open house celebration. a side of vegtables were fresh with a butter garlic gravy. nextstore is a seafood market. How fresh is that! Good value.BYO "”

The potatoes are delicious they make the eggs just right I really enjoy eating food from Charlies. The owner has always been kind to me, as well as the young ladies behind the counter. Always great food always great prices and the best uptown and Midtown drinks that I’ve had.”

“Love the guys here. They are always very nice to me. Their hospitality is always appreciated. The food is cooked on the spot so it's always hot and fresh. I got some good advice on joint health at my last visit and was able to try the Ginger juice. It was definitely potenent. I liked the one with the lemon so I got one before I left. I also got this roll on pain reliever for joints that I haven't tried yet but when I do I'll let you guys know how it went ?. Overall I would recommend this place for Great Breakfast. I had the French toast last time. Delicious ?

Parking: So Orange Avenue is always filled with cars. You're lucky to find a parking space right in front.”

“I drive all the way from the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania just to get some good fish from Miss Kim. It's always worth it! Miss Kim's fish is consistently delicious, always seasoned to perfection and cooked just right, whether I want it hard or soft. Whether it's Whiting or porkies. It never disappoints!”

“This place has been my to go spot when picking up patties for party’s, gatherings, etc. Their patties aren’t big and square like the typical Haitian patties; it’s more rectangular and portion controlled. My only thing is - is the pickup for phone orders. You can call and place an order but expect to wait a bit when you arrive. In my opinion it’s pointless to even call for the order but the patties are tasty so it’s worth it for me.”

“Ordered a 3 tier cake at La Baguette in Elizabeth to be picked up here, for me to arrange it myself with my own decorations since the party was in Connecticut the following day, and they did a great job working with me. It was very tasty and great texture (even after being in the fridge overnight for the party the next day)”

“Came in around 8pm after worked, tired from work, didn’t want to travel for my normal place I go for my west Indian food , I find this little gem and ordered to my dietary standards, got curry goat and all veggies and food was fresh tasting and very well seasoned and tender, was a bit surprised as I don’t like trying new places , definitely will be back to try different menu options, service is great and a welcoming atmosphere.. Highly recommended”

“I've been looking for a haitian restaurant that is worth using a delivery service. Yesterday, Jan. 1 was my first time trying this place. You already know I had to try the soup it was delicious, I'm glad I ordered 2. The beet salad was tasty, I just wish it had peas in it and the cut was slightly smaller. The marinade was delicious and the piklis was spicy and delicious. Will definitely order again and try my favorite meals.”

“A nice place to get combos. Probably the only place I would get it (for now).

Food- picadinho is my favorite!!! The other combos are okay. They can be dry and at times, undercooked. I am not a fan of the rice… unless it has caldo from the meat. Fries seem to be frozen prior to cooking.

Service- calling gives me anxiety. I understand they’re busy but that’s no excuse to be short with a customer or to rush them. Imagine if you’re ordering for the first time!

Parking- better than most places. Can get crowded though.

Atmosphere- it is spacious inside. Average decor. It’s nice to see the food being cooked nearby. The waitress was nice the one time I went to dine in with family. But they overcharged for orders that would’ve been cheaper had we taken the food to go. Food/spread was great though.

Pricing- decent for combos, although it did go up. Pastries are overpriced but that’s common. Tres leches is pretty good!”

“Black owner businesses with great service are hard to come by. I wouldn't complain about the time it takes knowing that patience is a virtue. The manager always has a smile on his face and is very efficient when it comes to memorizing his frequent faces. His staff make it a vibe to enjoy your time spent while being catered to. Very grateful for good people in the neighborhood especially. Mad love and kudos to the management. Peace, love, hair grease and soul to the brothers and sisters that are there daily to cater to our request.”

“The best Guyanese restaurant in Jersey. Hands down. Chow mein, chicken and goat curry, dhal puri and jerk chicken. 100% on point. Truly taste of Guyana. Owners are super nice. They take credit card as well”
