“They make real jerk chicken! ON THE GRILL! Tasted it with one meal and I bought more to take home so my family know it’s the real deal… definitely coming back and often 😇 additionally! They have 2 very friendly cashiers/servers which is usually hard to find. Met the owner and he also seems to be a nice guy… I don’t write reviews often unless I received bad service but today it is the opposite! People nice and food nicer! 🥰“

“This used to be a good place to get take out! Now the quality of the food has gone very low. They serve cold leftovers from the day before. The food taste like crap!!! You don’t get what you pay for at all. There is no parking!! You will get a ticket also.“

“10 stars all the way. As a police officer in desire of quality Caribbean food, I found my satisfaction in this restaurant. The owner Keith greeted me politely right away. He helped me with my food selection and politely explained all the items on the menu that I could choose from. I appreciated the fact that the establishment is clean, orderly, spacious, and welcoming. The staff were diligently were working along with the owner.
The food I ordered was curry goat, cook up rice, vegetables and a side of spice. I was full and satiated. I can’t wait to go back and want to bring my Caribbean friends there. Let it be known I visited three other places that were not as prepared to serve and feed people prior to my arrival to this specific place. I am glad that I didn’t settle and arrived at this location. Coming back very soon!“

“I wont judge the hot restaurant no a/c working cudda been a one time issue and the unavailable item or limited items… i understand that with food and marinating etc. following on the fact she said we are halal hoping that was truth because thet have Hennessy wings 😂😂. I know my spices and foods. They on point with the portions, they on point with they sides, they on point with corn bread. Very amazing experience so much food for a quik bite. “Have been trying this place for a while now, and must say, O Cookshop, is pretty damn good. My favorite is their, Rasta Pasta, and their Oxtails. In this specific review, I had ordered their, Large Oxtails, w/ Rasta Pasta, & Cabbage, and a side of, Mac n Cheese. The oxtails are extremely flavorful, can have a bit of fatty pieces sometimes, but the oxtails are cooked until tender, and they overall work well into the gravy. Their Rasta Pasta is fantastic too. Al dente noodles, and the sauce has such nice Alfredo flavoring with a bit of a kick. The cabbage is cooked to a nice crispness and is always a pleasant addition to any combination you can come up with. Not to mention their, Mac n Cheese. It is so damn good. It’s creamy, but still has that Baked Mac structure to it, it is also seasoned well too. Absolutely love this place. I’d highly recommend, O Cookshop, to anyone in the, East Orange, area and looking for some terrific, Caribbean food.“

“Impressed by the indoor fire pit. I ordered the jerk salmon and peas and rice. I usually have left overs the next day. I’ve been eating on this tray all night! It’s that good! No left overs. I’m so excited to find a place with good food. Ever since I gave up mast (one year today), my options have been extremely limited. 10/10 recommended!“

“I love this place. The food is always hot and fresh. Every time I have come to this restaurant I was pleased with the food served. The part that keeps me coming back is not just the food. One morning, I got there at the time of opening. There was a woman praying and she would not open that door til she finished her prayer. Then she proceeded to wipe the place down with Florida. I am not Christian but, I respect that highly. This restaurant is also extremely clean. No matter what time I come into this restaurant, it is always clean. Always. It is best to come when you are not in a rush.“
