“The food here is really good. If you don't mind a few locals crowding around playing their dice games outside sometimes. I'm from the hood so I'm not phased nor easily shook. Besides all that, the food here is pretty solid. You get a bit more then what you pay for and it's always made fresh. Large portions and a lot of options. I love their beef sausage with homefries and eggs. On occasion I enjoy the wings and waffles. They're pretty busy in the morning but I love places like that. It puts me in the frame of mind that the food must be fresh because it hasn't had the chance to be sitting around getting stale. Their iced teas and uptown (lemonade and iced tea mix) are good and sugar loaded. I cut it at home with a bit of water and it goes a long way.“
“This is one of my favorite places in East Orange. The food is delicious! I’ve had most of the dishes on the menu. They don’t serve any pork which is a definite plus for me. It’s take out only. The wings are the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve many a wing in my day. I l❤️❤️❤️ their macaroni salad, and cabbage. I think the veggies can be seasoned a bit more and the oxtails cooked longer so they will more tender. Overall, they serve good food and I will always return.“
“I’m quite pleased. $11.29 with tip for a good sized tasty breakfast from a local joint is a near unbeatable deal. Coffee is reasonably strong too, which is something that restaurants offering inexpensive meals often try to cut corners on.“
“Assalamu alaykum! I had a Beef Bacon Egg & Cheese on a fresh Cinnamon Raisin Bagel, and Cheesesteak with mayo and no peppers, and a slice of french toast with syrup. 10/10 I recommend! Brother is a very kind Muslim. Qur’an is playing in the background and everything is fast and delicious. Eat in or take out.“
“Charlies has never missed a beat. They have never disappointed me. You do need cash but when I’m in the area this is my go to. Grant it I only been here for breakfast I’m sure the other food is just as good. Customer service is good as well.“
“A few weeks ago, I ate at Burnet BBQ #4 because I tasted some of their food weeks earlier at a family gathering. Well, the kindness of the staff, atmosphere and taste of the food did not disappoint. I definitely plan to return in the future when I’m in the area.“
“Great service, very friendly staff , food is extremely tasty however I miss the self service of a real buffet. I highly recommend if you’re carrying out but self service buffet I wouldn’t , what happens if it’s busy and there’s only one cashier who’s doing everything ( cashing, serving, etc ) ?“
“I love their jerk chicken and really appreciate one of the guys who works the register (maybe one of the owners).. I have been coming here for years. Back in July, on the day my father passed away, I went to pick up some food. This guy immediately noted I was having a bad day because I wasn't smiling like I normally do. He was so kind and empathetic, as was every customer there also waiting for their food. You cannot put a price on kindness.“
“Great pastries. Wonderful staff .I tried the chicken foot and pig tail bean stew with white rice and it is delicious. Will definitely get me more in the future. The restaurant is now called Genesis with new owners but the food is still very good. Lots of “
