“Jeff made us feel at home! I originally came in from Brooklyn, NY to come visit a friend out in Jersey! My first time here felt like I’ve been here before. Jeff recommended some special sauces to us for the wings and it stands out compared to other places. We allowed us to taste test a hot sauce, which wasn’t just hot, but flavorful as well! He held wonderful conversations with us and was able to relate to us in a lot of ways. His engagement made us want to come back! I’ll be here once again if I find myself around town again. “My friends and I were attending an event at the NJ PAC. Not being familiar with the area, I researched places to eat nearby. We chose THE YARD because of the reviews we read. The experience was simply amazing. Every table was taken so we waited a few minutes and we were so glad that we did. We had been greeted by the owner and he quickly sat us when a table became available because I had expressed concerns about being on time for the performance. We each ordered a different meal and each of us raved about our selections all evening. I had the lamb burger and it was one of the best I have ever eaten: crispy with a lovely juicy interior. The each sauce was flavorful and the French Fries were the icing on the cake. We will be back and I would highly recommend THE YARD to everyone.“

“Came here for breakfast and was served by the lovely Donnette. She worked our side the WHOLE time my boyfriend and I came here to eat by time we left. Food was yummy and hot, I had the Southwest Chicken Burrito with a side of buttermilk pancakes and a hot coffee. Vibes were chill and quiet, and Donnette was quick while serving over 8 tables at a time which. Well deserving of praise and well tip. Will come again.“

“Listen!!!!!!! I’m one of the biggest critics when it comes to food, and I’m usually the first person to jump online and give a bad review when something isn’t right. HOWEVER… D&J Country Cooking is absolutely AMAZING. 💯 I was a little disappointed that they don’t offer dine-in, because I would’ve loved to enjoy my food hot at a table. Instead, I ended up eating it in my car. But let me tell you — it was still worth it. I ordered the fish, yams, and mac & cheese… and it was incredible. Everything was seasoned perfectly and tasted like real home cooking. When I walked in, I was welcomed by a very kind elderly woman who greeted me with eye contact, a warm attitude, and great recommendations. She was sweet, helpful, and really made me feel comfortable about trying the food. It was a true example of Southern hospitality. I’m giving this spot 9 stars. It would’ve been a full 10 if they had dine-in seating, because the food is so good it deserves to be enjoyed fresh at a table. Hopefully they consider adding a sit-down option in the future because it would really take the experience to another level. I’ll definitely be back. I’ve got to try the neckbones on Wednesday or Thursday next time. Great spot!!!!!“

“I was very happy with the service I had received at this bar/restaurant mainly because of the bartender Golda. Her attitude and service was really appreciated as I travel almost every week around the country for work. In fact I had other options to stay in the area, however because of Golda, I decided to stay at this hotel for the next two work visits. Thank you!“

“We stopped in on a whim before heading to Prudential Center, had the most beautiful and tasty drinks and delicious dinner, we split Salmon Sliders, Lobster tacos an order of maple buffalo wings, and the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had! The staff and service was amazing, everything had perfect timing and the atmosphere was everything we were looking for! After the show we even went back for dessert! Ordered more drinks along with their cognac bread pudding and sweet potato cheesecake. I have no idea how they make everything so delicious but this will forever be my spot when going to PruCenter from now on! 10/10, 5 stars all around, HIGHLY recommended!!“

“My children and I were on a stop over in New Jersey recently, making our way back from a holiday in South Africa, when we needed breakfast as we tried to adjust to the time change. Central Restaurant was a little bit of a drive from our airport hotel (about 5 miles), but they were open at 6:00 am and the online menu showed promise. The restaurant is a neighborhood greasy spoon, with all the cast of characters you would expect of such a place. The owners are Greek transplants, the clientele is mostly the black neighbors who live nearby, a line up of police officers and construction workers waiting for to-go orders, and travelers like us who may or may not know what they are in for. I saw grits on the menu which told me everything I needed to know about this place. They did not disappoint. First thing - to the restroom. If it’s clean you know the kitchen will be in order also. It was tiny, but clean and smelled good. My son ordered the Denver omelet with grits, I ordered fish and grits, and my daughter ordered the French toast breakfast with a side of grits. The grits were on point - creamy with that pat of butter pooling on the top. The French toast was just the right amount of crunchy (on the edges) and tender with a tiny bit more cinnamon for enhanced flavor. The Denver omelet was well cooked with just a bit of browning on top, but a tender and medium soft interior. The fish was unexpected as it had a coating and it was fried. But, the exterior was crunchy with a flaky tender flesh interior. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, but our orders were all A-plus calibre for a neighborhood greasy spoon. If you like this kind of atmosphere and breakfast food, don’t miss out if you happen to be in town!“

“Last night was the first time I went to the Priory but It will not be my last time. I really enjoyed the band ( Unfinished Bizzness ) and I enjoyed the music that was played when the band took a break. A very nice mature crowd having a good time together.... I can't speak about the food because I had dinner prior to going to the Priory, however the food smelled and looked good.....My first experience was a very pleasant experience.... Can't wait to go again!!!“

“By far the best sporting date I took myself on thus far. A bit tight to eat when someone is next to you but A1 service. Everyone was very professional. The food prime rib was a bit cold but tasty while the mini donuts for dessert were excellent. I do not believe I will ever watch another hockey game from general seats while by myself again. Now I must look into these types of seats for other events. #Spolied

“First of all don’t be put off by the appearance of the bar, it has a bit of a sports bar vibe but, but it serves some seriously good food.\nThe staff are friendly , helpful and efficient.\nI started off with Fren onion soup, a favourite of mine, and it’s was as good as any I have ever had.\nI followed with the pork chop, which was well worth the 15 minutes wait that the waitress had told me about, and absolutely delicious it was.\nThe bar has an extensive selection of different drinks, I opted for an IPA, which was great.\nAll in all a very good experience, not fine dining by a long shot , but excellent bar food is offered.“

My family put me on this spot and I want to give higher ratings but I need the waiter not to be in street clothes making it hard to figure out who is taking orders, answer the phone, stop letting people crowd the register where you take orders, a take orders over the phone especially if ppl willing to pay with debit.“

“Been coming here for a while now and the food has been amazing. The fried chicken is one of the best I’ve had in all of the east coast. They also just got BBQ Ribs and Oxtails. And they are heavenly, and full of flavors. Feels like im in a Jamaican/fried chicken cuisine. Best of both worlds.“

“Decades ago, I ate at this location weekly when it was "Eddie's Long Bar". I visited Pour Abbey's a few times. The inside has been COMPLETELY changed for the better. The food is very good and the service excellent. I am not in the area often but will stop here when possible. Well Done!“
