“We attended a concert recently at New Jersey performing arts center and this was our first time there. This was the best preshow dining experience that we’ve ever had. And we go to many many shows and have for years. Cassandra was our server and she and her team were very patient when needed, but also extremely attentive. The manager also came by to make sure that everything was all right as well. We were very surprised that there was no drop off on level of service, food quality, etc. as the pre-show crowds came in and filled the place. A very well run restaurant that we will certainly use anytime we are there.“

“Very nice atmosphere. We had steak tacos. Not the taste and flavoring I’m used to so I probably won’t get them again. The meat was more on the chewy side and not super soft But they were ok. This is definitely a place to enjoy good music and great drinks. Our circle of family and friends really did enjoy the food and drinks. The server was super attentive and made sure we were good the entire time. Enjoyed our short time here and would definitely return.“

“I was very happy with Classified - easily beats all the airport restaurants and lounges I’ve suffered through previously. It was very quiet, maybe all of three parties dining at once, and the food and service were on-point. I had the 28-day dry aged La Frieda burger, cooked to order, and was very pleased to see how thoughtful and prompt the servers were. They were personable, no stinginess over condiments or extras, and just made everything as easy and relaxing as can be when trying to catch a break from the chaos at EWR (shout-out to Myra and Barbara!) Sure, it’s pricy, but I’d gladly pay more just to dodge the hellscape that is the rest of this airport. I really can’t emphasize enough how pleasant every aspect of dining here wound up being, can’t wait to come back!“

Broccolini

“It was nice to get a side salad with my omelette. Everything was fresh and very good. An observant server came to my rescue when the bartender got stuck in a conversation for 30 minutes. Less expensive than other options in C terminal, quieter too.“

Primabel Bar & Restaurant Portuguese • $$
18 Hensler St, Newark

“Ate here with a group co-workers (total of 8 people) after work on a Tuesday evening. It had a casual atmosphere. The food was excellent starting from the appetizers all the way down to the dessert! The calamari and the shrimp during the appetizer was on point. The sauce on the shrimp was great dipping for the bread. For the Entree the seafood pasta was fresh and a generous serving portion for 5-6 people alone in 1 serving. We also had the picadinho, which was my favorite- excellent... not too greasy! And had a good portion of salad with steak. Then we each had a serving of different desserts that we shared- flan, chocolate mousse, tiramisu, cheesecake, and some pudding. All were delicious but my favorite were the flan and chocolate mousse. As for the drinks, we had a 2 pitchers of the red sangria and my friends had their beer from tap from their little waterfall grotto... it was so cool! We were all seated in the patio at the back of the restaurant which had a great breeze from outside on a nice summer temperature... our day happened to be rainy which was relaxing to see and hear from where we were seated. All in all the service was prompt and excellent from our waitress Rose. The owner happen to be in there during our visit and was very friendly and accomodating. And if you're in doubt just for the parking alone, there's a private parking lot in the back of the restaurant. Would reccomend this place and would come back again with family and friends!“

JBJ Soul Kitchen American •
Robeson Campus Center, 350 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Newark

“The best place for lunch near the Rutgers-Newark campus on weekdays! The restaurant has a great cause and serves delicious three-course meals for only $12. The three courses are appetizer (choice between salad and soup), main (two different protein options and one vegetarian option), and dessert (choice between a bakery item and fruit). I have been to the restaurant several times since opening a few years ago, and the food has been excellent every time that I have been there. The only minor drawback is that the location is only open for weekday lunch between 11:30 am and 2 pm.“
