“My friends and I were attending an event at the NJ PAC. Not being familiar with the area, I researched places to eat nearby. We chose THE YARD because of the reviews we read. The experience was simply amazing. Every table was taken so we waited a few minutes and we were so glad that we did. We had been greeted by the owner and he quickly sat us when a table became available because I had expressed concerns about being on time for the performance. We each ordered a different meal and each of us raved about our selections all evening. I had the lamb burger and it was one of the best I have ever eaten: crispy with a lovely juicy interior. The each sauce was flavorful and the French Fries were the icing on the cake. We will be back and I would highly recommend THE YARD to everyone.“

“My family and I went to Fornos yesterday after my daughter’s graduation from MSU. We didn’t make a reservation, but lucked out getting a table because two minutes after we sat down the line was forming. All I have to say is the service was impeccable!!! The food was amazing!!! “As someone who appreciates food when it is an experience, this right here does it in every sense. The owner clearly knows how to bring the part of Brazil that they dont show us. You don’t even need to speak to anyone because when you scan the QR Code, order & pay for everything (takes the awkward who’s paying) & your order arrives in no time. When you eat the food it is clear there’s a whole team trained in how to make everything that comes out of that kitchen mouthwatering. It’s a whole vibe full of delicious food, quick service, chill ambiance that’s only missing the resort right on the beach built around it. “This place is located adjacent to Penn Station Newark, right across the street, and can be accessed through an above ground gateway (so you are completely under cover for the entire journey). So, the location is prime if you are in need of waiting for a train. There are seating areas in the restaurant ... as well as a lobby area just a few feet away. And it is relatively quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of the train station.

On to the food ... quite good. I went for the Chicken Gyro. I happen to get it as it was freshly carved off the spit. Yum! I paired it with some fries and a soda. Exactly what I wanted. And then, as mentioned previously, a comfortable place to sit and wait for my train.“

Had I known that I would have just drank water and bought my own sangria for less at the local liquor store or went to a different bar. Also; there are a few things on the menu with no prices listed. Just ask for the price before ordering . I feel that the prices for the food such as lamb chops and seafoods are fair, but the drinks. Nope; Sorry not sorry. $19.50 for one glass of sangria is out right ridiculous and unnecessary. Other than the overpriced drink; everything else is good.“
