“I had such a great experience at Columbia BBQ Restaurant & Bar! I stopped in during my lunch break and everything was absolutely delicious.

I ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce, which was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. It came with yellow rice, pinto beans, and fresh avocado, and the whole plate was seasoned just right — comforting, filling, and fresh. I also had a passion fruit margarita with sugar on the rim, and it was AMAZING — sweet, tropical, and super refreshing.

My friend had the beef steak with onions, also served with yellow rice, pinto beans, and avocado, and he loved it. The steak was tender and well-seasoned. He paired it with a gin and tonic, which was made perfectly.

What really made the visit special was the owner, who personally served us. She was so friendly and attentive, and you could tell she really cares about her customers and the food.

Cooked just the way I liked it, and my sandwich had plenty. I just figured nowadays you would get more bang for your bucks, no, you don't. It seems that my egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich was all bread, 1 egg, 1 slice of cheese, and 2-3 strips of ?. For the price of the sandwich, I expected more. So I'll just stick to Bloomfield Bagels. The prices are a bit cheaper, and you get added condiments (salt, pepper, or ketchup).“

It has a milder flavor compared to Katz's, which I actually prefer since it allowed me to finish the whole sandwich in one go. Katz's meat is so intensely flavorful that I usually need to take a break and cleanse my palate before I can finish later. This place is a fantastic alternative if you're in Jersey. The prices are reasonable, and the 8 oz option is perfect for satisfying your craving without breaking the bank. The Knish and macaroni salad were delicious as well. They give you delicious pickles. We’ll definitely be returning often. Update January 2026. Stopped by for some pastrami sandwiches. They are still delicious and worth every penny. Hot dog special this week, $2.00. “Went to the brand new Houston location and things are a bit rocky with staffing and supplies but I want to brag on your employee CAMILLA ! We came from NC and after visiting Puerto Rico several times I was so excited for this experience! She was so patient with us! Answered all our questions with a very helpful and cheerful attitude even tho she was drowning in drink orders! With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well! Camilla even gave me a hug when we left! She made my whole morning! And gave us the absolute best breakfast recommendation as well! Thank u so much Camilla for your grace and kindness this morning. “Place is small, and also they have shareable tables just fyi, that threw us off, staff is super friendly and kind. We order some ramens and gyoza which was super flavorful, all their ramens were good, I forgot to take a picture of my husbands but his was spicy and had pork like chicharron (crispy pork) on top, which was to die for, my son didn’t like his beef miso ramen because the meat was minced and also had a sweet flavor so I switched it with mine and then he was happy, my miso pork ramen was delicious, savory and had a little quick since they decorate with what looked like chili oil, delicious but a little spicy. Crystal hot sauce and heinz on the table tells me that they know what they’re doing. Griddle cakes are slightly sweet along with the molasses butter which is perfect (they don’t do syrup)…“

“Few places are as accommodating as the staff here. The menu, although on available digitally, is extensive. Large selection of GF (gluten free) items. You can start with apps, choose from pizza or pasta as an entree. It is BYOB and that can make for a fun evening. They will accommodate to suit taste, we had someone that was sensitive to sodium, they adjusted sted the entree to suit. The place is small, the food tasty and seriously, the service is over the top.“

“My friends and I were attending an event at the NJ PAC. Not being familiar with the area, I researched places to eat nearby. We chose THE YARD because of the reviews we read. The experience was simply amazing. Every table was taken so we waited a few minutes and we were so glad that we did. We had been greeted by the owner and he quickly sat us when a table became available because I had expressed concerns about being on time for the performance. We each ordered a different meal and each of us raved about our selections all evening. I had the lamb burger and it was one of the best I have ever eaten: crispy with a lovely juicy interior. The each sauce was flavorful and the French Fries were the icing on the cake. We will be back and I would highly recommend THE YARD to everyone.“

“Made dinner reservations and we got an amazing family style table in this really amazing, rustic looking, happy vibes place! Noise levels were on the higher end and you had to speak loudly to hear the other person across the table!

José our server was friendly, attentive, and quick with his service. This is a very kid friendly place - so highly recommended for families with kids. At the same time, a great place for date night too.

An extremely well priced menu, with great options is how I'd describe their menu. Our order consisted of Crostini Misti ($10.50), Calamari ($18), Funghi di Prato ($12.50) - an excellent mushroom salad, for appetizers.

Mains included a very tasty (and slightly cheesy) Spinach Gnocchi ($18.50), Penne Arrabiata ($16), and Tagliatelle al Ragu ($18). Kids thoroughly enjoyed their butter pasta which they polished within a few mins!

Overall, we had a great time at this place, and I can clearly see Malatesta become our go-to Italian dinner place on weekdays or weekends. Great service, excellent quality food, and a very well priced menu! Can't ask for more.“

I got a cortado and an almond croissant. They were both good and the barista was extremely kind even when the place became packed and she was managing the coffee machine, oven and registering machine.
