Sankofa has become of hub of the community, often hosting social and cultural events, in addition to participating in community outreach in support of many causes.

The owner, Jessica Troupe, has poured her heart and soul into this cafe, and it shows. It is one of the best coffee shop in the area.“

“Was going thru Grubhub for wings and came across this place. I said how bad can it be. Wow I was surprised and disappointed. Disappointed that they didn’t have popcorn chicken but substituted for wings. They were amazing .not greasy at all. Very impressed. Will definitely go again. “The female manager was very nasty to two employees when I was there. She told one of them loud enough for everyone inside the restaurant to hear that he had two strikes and she would send him home and then turned to another worker and said that she was going home too. Wtf, the food was good but that woman needs to go back to the handbook and look at how to speak to employees when patrons are around. I was very uncomfortable and not sure I’ll be back. That is not the way to treat others.“

“Terrific and nostalgic fare. Got Turkey club for my meal with their delicious French fries. The sandwich was good enough to conquer my hunger and I only ate half. Took home the leftovers. My husband had the classic burger with French fries and it was huge and cooked to perfection. He said it was juicy and full of flavor with all the toppings. We both liked that the French fries came in a metal cup container because it kept the temperature longer which allowed us to eat them warm. I chose the green tea iced tea and thought it was perfectly not too sweet. Hubby got plain iced tea and it was unsweetened and terrific too. Prices are comparable to the area with tip just under $60.“

But hey, better late than never! I decided to come on Father’s Day to try their Graham Central Station and Cookies and Cream flavors. They were absolutely delicious! I even went back on a solo trip a week later just to try the Graham Central Station again, which is my absolute favorite. It’s so good that I might get in trouble with these several trips I plan on doing this summer to try all of their other flavors, but hey, what’s wrong with a little treat now and then🤭? I’ll definitely be back again and again! 😋“

The prices were so reasonable which is rare in Montclair! and they were so dog friendly! it was our first time there but not the last!“

“Was a great morning at Montclair Diner. Enjoyed the last day of summer Jazz and a lively brunch and enjoyed the sultry, soothing voice of Ms. Jacque Johnson and the band that accompanied her. I met the owner Elliot, who was very warm and welcoming. A great experience all around.“

“A 8/10 bagel place. Probably in the top 5 of bagel places in North Jersey. I highly recommend anyone new to this area or traveling from other states to check them out. Here is what i ordered:

I got an Asiago Bagel with bacon egg and cheese. The egg was cooked nicely and they are very generous to the portions when it comes to the bacon. The bagel was pretty big, all the flavors complimented each other well and it was very fulfilling. I felt like i got what i paid for.

I also got a panini bacon egg and cheese. The bread was burned, had to scrape off the burned pieces off of the bread, the bacon was alo burnt, it did not have much cheese as well. It was an OKAY panini, but its not worth $9.

Other than the panini, the service is amazing, they are always busy on the weekends so be prepared to stay in line for at least 7-10 minutes.“

“Me and the love of my life came to this place one time and I had a bobba tea. Great customer service and the tea was really good. I love this place because we had such a fun time that day and one of our inside jokes comes from here. Definitely give it a try!

“Last night, I took my wife out here for a night out. What a beautiful space with great views!

We started off with the bruschetta, the ricotta and truffle honey was a nice touch. Then my wife and I shared the smashed meatball parm sliders and the Pizza Rosa.

The service was excellent from start to finish. We will be adding this Rooftop into our rotation on future nights out!“
