“This place is excellent. I bought my friend from Japan with his family and was happy to take them to Cornbread for some authentic soul food. Needless to say my friend and his family loved the experience. They were finishing a road trip throughout the US and they thought the food at Cornbread was some of the best they had in their month long journery. The turkey wings were particularly good and I'm saying this as a person who is mostly vegetarian. Service was also excellent with attentive help and the servers were conversational and friendly with my friends and I. Bathrooms were also very clean. I wholeheartedly recommend Cornbread Montclair as a solid business and a great place for delicious Soul Food.“

As someone who usually dines in New York City but has grown tired of the George Washington Bridge and Lincoln Tunnel traffic, I’ve been looking for great spots in Jersey. “Had dinner there for the second time on Saturday night! It was very memorable. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the eggplant with the Barata for an appetizer. It was so delicious and so tasty and my main course was the homemade linguine with lump crab and corn. We also got the meatball which was spectacular and then I got the cheesecake dessert which was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten. I absolutely love love love this place. Can’t wait to go back and eat there again.“

“Stopped in for a quick meal before a show, boy were we overwhelmingly surprised at how amazing the food was. The burrata was an explosion of flavors in your mouth. It was so delicious we ordered a second. The staff was absolutely welcoming and explained and took the time to chat. Its family owned and definitely deserves your attention. “Little disappointed at this place. Saw they had Crispy Beef with Fresh Honey Walnuts Beef with a bed of steamed broccoli in a sweet brown sauce topped with sugared walnuts. Not crispy as from can see in pic. Was this really beef also? Walnuts were plain as well.Steamed Spinach Dumplings were a bit dry . Hunan Dumplings Spinach and beef dumplings topped with spicy peanut sauce. Spicy. I got not spicy but were very good. Would I try again. Yes think I would.“

“The female manager was very nasty to two employees when I was there. She told one of them loud enough for everyone inside the restaurant to hear that he had two strikes and she would send him home and then turned to another worker and said that she was going home too. Wtf, the food was good but that woman needs to go back to the handbook and look at how to speak to employees when patrons are around. I was very uncomfortable and not sure I’ll be back. That is not the way to treat others.“

“Terrific and nostalgic fare. Got Turkey club for my meal with their delicious French fries. The sandwich was good enough to conquer my hunger and I only ate half. Took home the leftovers. My husband had the classic burger with French fries and it was huge and cooked to perfection. He said it was juicy and full of flavor with all the toppings. We both liked that the French fries came in a metal cup container because it kept the temperature longer which allowed us to eat them warm. I chose the green tea iced tea and thought it was perfectly not too sweet. Hubby got plain iced tea and it was unsweetened and terrific too. Prices are comparable to the area with tip just under $60.“

“This restaurant most closely resembles the chinese food you get in nyc, it's good. The food is tastes great. They have a lunch special. It's affordable compared to other "Chinese" restaurants in town. They also deliver.

Parking: Parking along Bloomfield Ave is always tough. I wouldn't recommend double parking. There are paid lots in town.

“Had the best pumpkin pancakes ever with a side of real bacon. the best bacon. I normally have turkey bacon. celebrating my birthday breakfast with my daughter before she headed back to PA. Red Eye is one of her favorite places to eat. She use to work in Montclair. So when she is visiting, this is her place. Great atmosphere!“
