“If you're in Montclair and craving fresh Mediterranean cuisine, look no further than Jackie’s Grillete. This gem delivers an authentic and delightful experience that’s hard to beat.
From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is charming, with a touch of Mediterranean flair that sets the perfect ambiance for the meal ahead. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The hummus is a must-try—creamy and flavorful, served with freshly baked pita that’s perfect for dipping. The falafel was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection.
For the main course, the lamb kebabs were outstanding, grilled to perfection and served with a side of fragrant rice and a crisp, refreshing salad. The spanakopita, with its flaky pastry and savory spinach filling, was another highlight that I highly recommend.
What really sets Jackie’s Grillete apart is their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can taste the difference in every bite, and it’s clear that a lot of love and care goes into each dish.
Overall, Jackie’s Grillete is a standout in Montclair’s dining scene. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Mediterranean food or new to the cuisine, this place is sure to impress. Highly recommended for a satisfying and memorable meal!“

“First time here, I cannot describe how delicious the food was. My girlfriend and I had 3 meals, grilled chicken shawarma pita, vegan strong, moroccan vegan meatballs. All 3 items were packed with flavors, and well presented. The interior was nice and definately a spot to go to enjoy a quick bite.“

“One of the best places in Downtown Montclair for falafel. I like falafel sandwiches and this place never disappoints. It’s at a walking distance from my apartment. I have tried Falafel sandwich and the Galilea platter - both are tasty. Highly recommend this place.P.s - they don’t accept cards, cash only.“

“This is a place that my sister and I love to visit. I believe that the atmosphere and warmth of the environment are fruitful due to the owner Daniel Ben-Zeev who is always present to greet the custome“

“We have been getting take-out from Falafel Hut for many many years. It’s a great option for a reasonably priced meal. We have had a variety of items from the menu and have been happy with them. We have also ordered for parties / group gathering and everyone was happy with the meal.
Kid-friendliness: If your kid wants chicken fingers and fries, their’s are good.“

“TOROS Restaurant is the only place I go when I have the budget and the opportunity. It is an establishment that I respect, first of all, with its taste and cleanliness, and then with its prices, with its experienced management and friendly staff. We would like to express our gratitude for the delicious food and nice service we had at Montclair NJ Restaurant, which we visited with my wife today! We recommend it to those looking for flavor. regards“

“I had recently read that a new Executive Chef had been hired and not having dined there in a while made a reservation for dinner on Saturday night (11/25) at 6:00 p.m.. Taking advantage of the fact that the dining room was stylish we dressed for dinner. When we arrived there was no host/hostess to greet us and though the weather is turning colder no where to hang long coats. Most surprisingly was that the dining room was almost empty. The young waitress attending the bar crowd offered to seat us in that area but we respectfully declined and asked to sit in the dining room which is really well put together in all respects. Given the lack of other guests we had some well founded concerns and second thoughts but realized that we were all dressed up with nowhere to go so we decided to stay and take our chances. Our decision was rewarded with an excellent meal. My wife had the braised short ribs ragu over pasta to which she paid the high compliment that it was the "best she ever had." As a vegetarian my menu options are more limited but my ceasar salad and spaghetti pomodoro were excellent. We shared a chocolate cake dessert which was also very good. I asked for coffee but was told there was none so our helpful waitress offered to brew a fresh pot and I accepted that offer. Given the quality of the meal and the quality of the room we were surprised that there were so few other people in the restaurant especially when it is so hard to get a table at a good Montclair restaurant on a Saturday night. We have eaten at many of the popular places in town and would rate the cuisine at the Allegory as on par or better than most. We would recommend the following upgrades: (1) make your guests feel welcome when they enter by having them greeted by a host or hostess, (2) provide a place to hang coats, and (3) train your wait staff and have them wear a uniform befitting of the atmosphere you want to create. We will be back.“
