My husband’s egg was runny to his liking. The horchata is usually a hit or miss in most restaurants, but theirs was pretty good! The service was also great. “Delicious food, friendly and prompt service. We had one of the ceviche and octopus as appetizers. We had the salmon with passion fruit reduction, a couple of rice dishes and a pasta dish with Peruvian style pesto. All distinctive and super tasty. We will be back!”

“1st time there and the food was so tasty! good burger options...the waiter recommended the black eyed pea burger! So good. Even the fixings were tasty..a bit messy to eat in public but we finished every bite. Oh and the mint tea was a treat! perfect balance of flavor and sweetness. The air conditioning was blasting unnecessarily since the outdoor temps dropped so we moved to a more comfortable seat.

“We ordered the stuffed eggplants and calamari for appetizers. The main we had the dinner special short ribs pasta. The calamari has that tender texture with a chewy touch. The short rib pasta tastes amazing with rich beef flavor. And for dessert, the classic tiramisu is definitely a must! This place is BYOB so that’s a plus.”

“This is my favorite restaurant in Montclair right now. We had dinner last night (they serve dinner Fri - Sun) and the ceviche, pulpo, seared cod, and short rib ropa vieja were fantastic. So fresh and exquisitely plated. We sat in the lovely outdoor courtyard and the service was perfect. We got some pastries to go and they were also wonderful. I can't believe this place isn't packed - maybe because it was a Sunday night and a lot of people are on vacation? I hope it's successful because I want it to be around for a long time!”

It was so delicious and so tasty and my main course was the homemade linguine with lump crab and corn. We also got the meatball which was spectacular and then I got the cheesecake dessert which was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten. I absolutely love love love this place. “I took my parents here for an early weekday dinner. It was a full restaurant. The sister of the brothers who own the place came over and told us we were eating her grandmother’s meatball recipe and she was delightful- so were the meatballs.

Our waiter, however, was so rude. I tried to place an additional order to go two times and each time he kept putting his finger up at me because he was too busy. I finally got in calf the order and he walked away without hearing the rest. The next time I got his attention to place the rest of the order which was about ten minutes later, he said, “I know I know. I already it in.” Without hearing what I wanted to order. At this point I said, “I’m so sorry. Can you please let us know when you’re not busy? I would like to finish the order.” And he took it down, rolled his eyes and walked away. He continued to roll his eyes at me every time he walked by. It was so unprofessional that I will not be coming back here again. It seems to me that a family restaurant like this could do better to hire nicer staff— we all just want to sit and enjoy our food and be taken care of. It’s supposed to be enjoyable. Especially at a family restaurant.”

We ordered brisket fries,cheese fries, smash patty melt, Montclair Blue Burger, build your own burger and 3 shakes. Everything was amazing including the burger buns (fluffy and airy). I wish they were closer to us, Old Bridge could definitely use a really good burger place.”

“gelato: the flavors were amazing. it tasted pretty dang good. but it felt more like soft serve so i was kind of confused with the texture. but flavor is nice nonetheless. the gelatos are made fresh there right in front of you. i got the espresso flavor but i tried mango and pistachio as well.

value: its pricey for sure for the portion size. but it is also being made fresh there so it is understandable. i think flavor also justifies the price but i think i was just thrown off a bit by the texture. there was also a discrepancy between how much each of us got even though we all got the same size which was kind of odd (one of us got a huge mountain while one barely got a hill)

service: it was a very in and out type of feeling. didn’t feel very warm and welcoming. kind of just what do you want? okay here. pay. bye.

vibe: seating both inside and outside. it’s a cute spot for sure.

overall i liked the taste but not the biggest fan of the soft serve texture. i was expecting a more silky feeling but maybe it just wasn’t ready at that moment. i would recommend bc i would return to try the other flavors but not frequently bc it is expensive.”

I was simple and just got maple walnut on a cone. Unfortunately, they ran out of whipped cream for the pup but he enjoyed anything he found on the floor. Overall we had a great time and was worth the drive for some good homemade ice cream. Highly recommend but expect a full parking lot and a friendly crowd to greet you when you arrive.”

She told one of them loud enough for everyone inside the restaurant to hear that he had two strikes and she would send him home and then turned to another worker and said that she was going home too. Wtf, the food was good but that woman needs to go back to the handbook and look at how to speak to employees when patrons are around. I was very uncomfortable and not sure I’ll be back. That is not the way to treat others.”

“Pappardelle Restaurant is a wonderful local Italian restaurant with great food and service. You feel like you are part of the family when you eat here. Augustine greets you when you arrive and you are seated in their lovely dining room. This Montclair BYO restaurant provides the perfect place to gather with family and friends. Service is prompt and attentive and the menu is varied with something for even your more finicky eaters. You will not be disappointed by both the familiar Italian standards and the creative specials. We recently hosted a holiday party for 24 and the group is still talking about the event. Pappardelle provide choice of packages at different prices for groups . We chose a package which began with family style appetizers followed by pasta and salad courses and then a choice of several main dishes with dessert and coffee. We were not rushed and enjoyed our evening. Thank you to Augustine and his staff for creating a memorable event for our group.”

“This is my updated review. Still a good place for good food. Churrasco and pandebono also the empanadas are great.. Only gripe is how expensive the menu has gotten and there are no options for lunch specials. I know prices of food have gone up all across the board but I still feel that places like this should provide some specials to keep customers and patrons from dumping 50 to $60 for two people to eat lunch on typical Colombian Fare. Can't see myself going back as often as I would like or like I used to.”

“My husband and I dined here for a day-after Valentine's celebration. Our 7:00 reservation allowed us to be seated right away. The playlist was stellar. It was all the music I grew up listening to as a kid, and it made me feel at home. McKenzie was our server and she was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive. The menu has so many great choices, but the specials shouldn't be slept on either! Here's what we had: Appetizers: -Brussels sprouts salad with sliced apple, marinated feta, roasted squash, candied pecans, quinoa and tossed in a vinaigrette - Kabocha squash ravioli in a braised beef and peanut ragu, crispy eggplant and a peanut-green bean crumble. Entrées: -Flat iron steak in a mustard-sherry au poive sauce, carmelized onions, and potato churritos -Fresh cavatelli in an escargot sauce, shelled escargot, topped with a parsley butter crumb - Side of sautéed wild mushrooms with sage and citrus Dessert: -Orange and cardamom olive oil cake, assorted coffee and tea. The food was stunning. Every bite was a hit and truly made with love. Such thoughtful flavor combinations and interesting applications, all the while cooked perfectly. We had the opportunity to speak with Beverly, and we learned so much about her passions for the industry and the pride she has for the products she creates. First, a classic brick-oven Margherita with a crispy crust and melty cheese. Next, an incredible arugula truffle pizza. Lastly, chicken cutlets with fresh mozzarella.

Every bite was perfect, and the friendly waiter made it even better. Porto, you’ve stolen my foodie heart. If you haven’t been, go now, you’ll thank me later!”

“Rooster is a pretty solid quick service place. I love the wings, I think they're way better than the chicken tenders and sandwiches. The fries are also delicious. Also try the rooster sauce, its my favorite to get on the side. The only downside to the wings is that they do take a bit longer to cook so you might have to wait longer. There is seating to eat there but if you go when its busy there are lots of people going in and out and getting takeout and standing around.”
