“Searched for a resturant through resturant.com and this was one of the places. They didn't accept the coupon that was ok because the food was so great I wanted to pay cash. Nadia was the server with a beautiful smile. Such beautiful spirit. Kind and helpful. Small place but the atmosphere was so great Christian music was playing. The food was excellent and well seasoned. The portions was on point. Had the oxtail peas and rice cabbage and plantains. My mouth bus watering vas I think about. My sister had the same but salad instead box cabbage. I will return again. I will try Akai this time“

The doubles as well was very good. Only tried these 2 items but I'm sure the rest of the menu items are just as delicious. Would definitely recommend and would be going back.“

“I would say please make sure you are handling your chicken correctly. After eating your delicious chicken (at least one time) I felt like I experienced a bout of food poisoning. Unfortunately, I can't eat here anymore, I don't know if the food is being handled properly.“

“Taste of the Caribbean catered my mom's birthday. Denise was courteous, accommodating, and kind and developed a really excellent menu for the event. She hand-delivered the food and made sure that it was held at temperature just like we requested. She accommodated the spice profiles as well given that my mom is a little bit older and can't handle the spicy food in the same way as she used to. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend them and their catering services to anybody. Amazing customer service and even better tasting food. The beef patties and the oxtail were 10 out of 10.“

“Atmosphere is chill. You got background music, 5 arcade machines, and a comfortable couch to sit on while you (rarely) wait for food. The patties themselves are exceptionally varied in type, and each have their own original flavor profile. It's worth eating each one, and its DEFINITELY worth buying, at least to me. 10/10“

“Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.“

With only a few tables in the restaurant, the service and personal attention were like you were invited into the chef's home for private dining. The table was set beautifully like at a 5-star restaurant and serene spiritual music and videos played to add to the welcoming atmosphere. Now--the food! It was our first time eating Haitian cuisine and everything was made with such high quality and care. From the Soursop drinks (a must!), to the best potato salad I have ever eaten in my life, to the black bean soup, to the snapper, chicken and pork--everything far exceeded our expectations. “It's a small location on Oak Street and the food can be smelled from miles away. Once you enter, you'll see why there's a line and once you taste the food, you'll want to go back. The oxtail, the curried goat, the jerk chicken and the fried chicken are simply done right. They're delectable and flavorful. One of the main things I appreciate is, they're warm and inviting. You don't get a bad attitude from them. One last thing, I've never in my life heard of oxtail soup and it was phenomenal 😋“
