9 Best Caribbean Restaurants in Newark

“My husband and I went here after monster jam, saw that it was within waking distance of the prudential center and we decided to go check it out.This restaurant is beautifully decorated! There were many places to take photos, a lovely seating area with comfortable pillows, and there was a wall of fame of various Caribbean Islands. It smelled fresh and clean inside and you can see the staff takes great care of their restaurant. The food!!! Jessum peace!!! The food was excellent! I ordered the stew chicken with rice and peas and Mac n cheese. My husband ordered curry goat with white rice and veggies. We eat had a beef patty as a starter. The patties dem taste like bak ah yard! The Curry goat was like something we would find at a 9 night back in Jamaica and the stew chicken was very flavorful. I didn't want the meal to end. We ordered food to take home with us to eat during the snow storm. The meal brought my husband to tears giving him a nostalgic feeling of home. We will return again!“

“Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.“

Grant it this is my first time eating at this restaurant (at work and needed something to eat and it was across the street) but this cabbage and carrots (has a light sweet-spice) taste like gold. Rice and peas are cooked to purrrrrrfection!!!!!! Lets talk about the Curry Chicken ? (BABY) I normally do not eat curry chicken because it’s messy and it never speaks to my stomach and soul but FINALLY “I’M IN L❤️VE.” New customer for the life of your store front (Right here). “Food is good but stop cutting corners. I been buying food from you for over a year now and it was always delicious. But this last time I got dried up chicken, two dry legs, and a thigh cut in half, in all three of my food. Stop cutting corners. It only ruined your reputation. You're good the way you do things. Be who you are!“

“Took a friend of mine here for the cow foot soup and he Loved it ...now he saying he should have gotten 2 soups so he could have had one for his 6 hour trip down the highway...Curry goat was excellent and soup superb...Thank You Mr R...??????“

We are not familiair with Jamaican food so I asked for the Signature dish which was al of their food!
So they prepared a meal with a bit of all!
So sweet of them!!
The man behind the counter advised us very well! Hope he Will have a Nice holiday in Portugal with his girlfriend!
