“First off, I want to say that I never planned on stopping in. I was in the area because I was touring and Dean greeted me with a smile and a wave from the window. When I came back around and let him know I was interested in the menu options, he started tell me about his discounts and promotions. Unfortunately most of those things were meet, and I'm vegetarian so I asked if he had any vegetarian options and that I was hoping for patty and plantain.

He told me he did have callaloo+ kale and an ackee patty. He made them himself, and even gave me a complimentary drink. I chose sorrel, one of my favorite drinks growing up.

He packed them neatly and gave me some extra bag so I could carry it, and when I finally got to the house I was able to take a bite of each patty. At least I planned it to just be a bite.

When I tell you the flavors, the creaminess, the reminder of home just slap me in the tongue! I was in heaven. The sorrel was surprisingly sweet and delicious and I had to force myself to stop drinking it so fast. If I hadn't been so hungry and the food wasn't so good. I would have some pictures to show y'all, when I say I tore that food UP. I did not get paid for this, he did not ask me to write a review, but the food was just so.dang.good.

“This caribbean restaurant was a huge hit. The curry goat was mouthwatering. The red snapper was delicious and the sides were made with love. My son enjoyed his curry chicken, and my cousin enjoyed the snapper. I had the opportunity of meeting the owner, Sandy. She's great. And the atmosphere was relaxed. “The joy I’m feeling as I type this review is indescribable. FINALLY, I have found a PROPER Jamaican restaurant with PROPER JERK food and for a reasonable price. The chef is in the back GRILLINGGGGG that meat- oxtail, chicken, goat meat, beef ribs. Meat, that I as a Jamaican, never imagined could be jerked, they jerk and it’s delicious. The flavors and the tender meat- just wow. SB: If you dont like sauce, just be sure to ask for some on the side because they automatically put it on there.

This is literally a gem in for the state of NJ for sure. I’m telling ya’ll, I have been to MANYYYYY restaurants and the jerk is always baked. People are out here eating baked chicken, calling it jerk and NO THANKS. If you want real, authentic, Jamaican jerk, this is the place to go. I promise you won’t be disappointed. “Bought doubles and a curry chicken wrap roti and this was ones of the best tasting wrap rotis I've had in awhile. The curry itself and the inside condiments were flavorful and very tasty. The doubles as well was very good. Only tried these 2 items but I'm sure the rest of the menu items are just as delicious. Would definitely recommend and would be going back.“

“My husband and I went here after monster jam, saw that it was within waking distance of the prudential center and we decided to go check it out.This restaurant is beautifully decorated! There were many places to take photos, a lovely seating area with comfortable pillows, and there was a wall of fame of various Caribbean Islands. It smelled fresh and clean inside and you can see the staff takes great care of their restaurant. The food!!! Jessum peace!!! The food was excellent! I ordered the stew chicken with rice and peas and Mac n cheese. My husband ordered curry goat with white rice and veggies. We eat had a beef patty as a starter. The patties dem taste like bak ah yard! The Curry goat was like something we would find at a 9 night back in Jamaica and the stew chicken was very flavorful. I didn't want the meal to end. We ordered food to take home with us to eat during the snow storm. The meal brought my husband to tears giving him a nostalgic feeling of home. We will return again!“

“Ate here for the first time with my sisters, and we had a fantastic experience. Our server, cherrylynn, gave us a run down of the menu and was very attentive. We had the jerked chicken wings and yuca fries and were in love. Would be dining here again“

“Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.“

“My family and I LOVE coming here! I've tried all options they offer and they are delicious. The Spicy Oxtail is NO JOKE. If you love heat get the spicy version of every patty they have. My personal favorite is the Hearty Beef and Oxtails. They are worth every penny!!!“

“We ordered a pretty large takeout order and the food was incredible! My Dominican and Mexican parents can be really picky so we were really nervous. They loved the Moro and yucca in particular. All the meats were really good and our favorite was the pork and ropa vieja. The only thing (not well pictured) we weren’t a fan of was the tamale but one thing out of so much hardly bothered us. Stuffed avocados with shrimp ceviche will be something I always remember. Delivered with care and I’m sure we will order in the future again.“

Since I didn't have much experience, I asked Aiyana for recommendations on how much food (with variety) to feed all the guests. She was so patient and helpful throughout the process. The food was delicious! The guests love the food. Aiyana & Keith set up everything so nicely for me. They went above and beyond in providing exceptional service. My go-to meal is the jerkD wings with collard greens and yams, plus extra jerk sauce on the side because the flavor is just THAT good. The wings are crispy, juicy, packed with flavor, and the jerk sauce takes everything to another level. The collard greens and yams taste homemade and perfectly seasoned.

Grant it this is my first time eating at this restaurant (at work and needed something to eat and it was across the street) but this cabbage and carrots (has a light sweet-spice) taste like gold. “Came in around 8pm after worked, tired from work, didn’t want to travel for my normal place I go for my west Indian food , I find this little gem and ordered to my dietary standards, got curry goat and all veggies and food was fresh tasting and very well seasoned and tender, was a bit surprised as I don’t like trying new places , definitely will be back to try different menu options, service is great and a welcoming atmosphere.. “The food and service at Tasha’s is great! My husband loves her food he won’t even let me cook him oxtails. He has had us try so many dishes and we are delighted everytime. The portions are large enough to eat a 2nd 3rd time depending on your appetite. There’s always dessert selections fresh in the fridge. And Tasha along with the family friendly staff are pleasant and welcoming. Now she sells her Oxtail Rub so you can try your hand at it. Overall I give Tasha 5 plus stars. “I ordered oxtail with rice and peas and mac&cheese the oxtails are 9.5/10 only because it’s fatty but I really love the flavor the mac&cheese is a 7/10 I think it could use some more flavor but it got the right amount of cheese it just need more seasoning and the service was 10/10 got here fast“
