“Popped in for some food after hitting the pool - everything was so fresh. I got the fritura and was blessed with a massive portion of fried, fresh, incredible meats, cheese, and plantains. The chicken was so moist and juicy, the chicharron was deeply flavorful and had me floored; truly so fresh, tasted like a mama made it for me. My partner got the pernil and it was also incredible. 10/10!!!“

“The food is pretty good. I ordered the tres golpes. I asked for the eggs to be scrambled and they charged me extra, I thought that was greedy of them. I have a raw egg allergy, so I can’t eat eggs unless they are fully cooked. The mangu didn’t taste that fresh. Overall it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great.“

“My cousin and I loved our experience, as this was our first time trying the food here. I'm not a take pictures of the food person, but the sweet plantain gnocchi and braised oxtails were amazing. I enjoyed the suya rib eye and espresso martini as well.

The vibe of the restaurant is super chill, we sat upstairs and the energy was great for a Friday night in Brooklyn.

“I was unfamiliar with this restaurant, but my husband received a gift card from his colleagues at his retirement party. We came for Valentine's Day and were very pleased with the choice! We started with Old Fashioned and Fried Green Tomatoes. Perfect batter and crunch. The bacon jam gave the perfect amount of bite. Mr. TSwi had fish (sorry - no photo). I had the garlic clove stuffed filet. It was fork-tender and so delicious. Potatoes fried in tallow butter were decadent. We had the Bread Pudding for dessert - and the leftover for breakfast Sunday morning. Overall, great value for the quality of the food. Not ridiculously expensive. Not ostentatious (TSwi wore jeans and a blazer and was well-dressed compared to others.) We will look forward to coming back again soon.“

“It’s become really hard to find consistently good jerk chicken these days. A lot of my former favorite spots have fallen off and with food like this, you can tell when the love and effort aren’t there anymore.
That said, this place absolutely nailed it. The jerk chicken was a home run perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and cooked just right. The rice and peas and the sides were just as impressive. If I lived closer, I’d honestly eat here every day. That’s how good it is.

The only small negatives were the packaging and the limited sauce, but truthfully, the chicken didn’t even need much extra. Overall, this spot is a definite hit.“

“Oxtail was a 10/10, absolutely amazing, and all the sides were great. I wasn’t a big fan of the brown stew chicken (the chicken itself was a bit dry), but the stew was rich and flavorful.
The atmosphere was perfect for a date night or a calm dinner. The owner’s wife even stopped by to let us know they have jazz on some Fridays and weekends, which was a really nice touch. “This is THE spot. Jerk chicken is some of the best I've ever had. There's a good char that's smokey and flavorful without any bitterness. The spice is a warm heat with the right amount of sweet. Rice and peas cooked incredibly well, not dry at all. And the cabbage is perfectly tender not mushy. There patties are low-key solid. Curry Chicken is a bit better than the beef in my opinion opinion. But the crust on all is flakey and the filling is flavorful with good spice.

“Ate here with my family on a Saturday night. We took an uber to this location as we figured trying to find parking would not be good. The service and food was good. I couldn’t rate the food 5 stars as my steak was not the one I ordered and the meat was chewy. I didn’t rate the atmosphere 5 stars either as the place is quite small and not too much space to stand around while waiting for a table. If in the area, I do recommend stopping here for some authentic Cuban food.“
