“Excellent time at this quaint stylish restaurant. Not super familiar with Peruvian food but they had excellent flavors and enjoyed the overall experience. Thought the rice was a bit salty for my taste but each dish came out super aesthetic. As others have reviewed prior, the ceviche was a highlight and would definitely return for it. I would say that the service of the staff was all top notch and made our dinner really pleasant; just make sure to refill waters as I didn't get a refill until end of dining session upon request. Only about a dozen tables so make reservations. Well worth the effort if you're in the area“
“5 Star Spot ! Been going here since opening and service and food is always the same, TOP QUALITY - owner has staff well trained and the food reflects the quality and pride the owners have for the restaurant. Must try Chaufa and chicken ! and can't forget the chichi morada drink !“
“We had an amazing meal here at Lomo Saltado. The service was excellent and our waiter Oscar was very professional and took care of all of our needs. I also had the opportunity to speak to Karina the owner of the establishment and thanked her for the delicious food and presentation. The flavors were amazing and we will definitely be returning to savor some of their other dishes. I saw first hand why this restaurant has great reviews. It did not disappoint. Don't hesitate to go and give Lomo Saltado a try. You will enjoy the wonderful flavors of authentic Peruvian food. Buen Provecho!“
“I was really impressed by this place! We got the coconut shrimp bao buns to start which were absolutely delicious. The shrimp was crispy and hot and the sauce/toppings took it over the top. Perfect snack before our entrees.I got the “cheese steak” ramen and it was truly one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The short rib was tender, the caramelized onions brought so much flavor. The portion was extremely generous, was only able to eat half and took the other half to go.The tres leches tiramisu is a MUST. It was perfectly decadent without being too sweet or heavy. The service from the entire staff was amazing. They were super attentive with refilling our waters, clearing dirty plates and wrapping leftovers. Every staff member that interacted with us was extremely pleasant, accommodating and welcoming. My only small complaint would be that the tables are EXTREMELY close together. Like truly a couple inches. It made it hard to have conversation at times and it was awkward when you or the table next to you had to get in or out because it was very tight.Overall, we will absolutely be back and we look forward to trying more dishes!“
“This is a complete taste of authentic Peruvian food! All my experiences here have been with takeout. Calling to place an order is always prompt and accurate. Pick up isn't ever more than 20 minutes for food to be ready. The weekends seem to be the busiest as tables are filled with customers. Walking in on the weekends, you'll be walking into classic Peruvian music and/or modern Spanish music. The llama upon entrance is a nice touch to its culture and opportunity for a nice photo. Most importantly, thumbs up to the fresh seafood used for their ceviche mixto. Don't forget to add the papa ha la huancaina as a side dish. Overall, I find the prices here fair for the quality and quantity of what they serve.“
“This is a small, but pleasantly presented BYOB restaurant - comfortable & welcoming. We had lomo saltado, tallerin saltado (seafood and the mixed beef & chicken), and tacu tacu bistek. All were delicious. Lots of fresh seafood, and chicken, and the beef was lean and tender. We tried the causa rellena (chicken) and causa de camarones for appetizers - tasty and refreshing. Everything was delicious, and service was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be going back.“
“I live in West New York and I come with my family to taste delicious grilled chicken, the best is their fries. My kids love the Chaufa joint. Their portions are abundant and the food is very fresh. Pablo, always kind and helpful, takes great care of us.The owners are charming. Highly recommended.“
“I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the culinary wonders at our local deli, and I must say, it was a five-star delight from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere immediately set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The friendly staff greeted me with genuine smiles and were more than happy to help me navigate through their extensive menu. The variety of options was impressive, catering to all tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic deli sandwiches, crave a hearty salad, or desire a comforting soup, this deli has it all. The ingredients were fresh, and the attention to detail in each dish truly stood out.I opted for one of their signature sandwiches, and it was a flavor explosion! The bread was perfectly toasted, and the fillings were generous and well-balanced. What impressed me the most was the quality of the meats and cheeses – a testament to the deli's commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients. The side options were equally enticing, and I couldn't resist trying a few. The potato salad was creamy and flavorful, while the coleslaw added a refreshing crunch to my meal. It's evident that the chefs take pride in creating dishes that not only taste delicious but also showcase the artistry of deli cuisine. The service was prompt and attentive, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff's passion for the food they serve was evident in their recommendations and willingness to customize orders based on personal preferences. To top it all off, the dessert selection was a sweet revelation. I indulged in a delectable pastry that left me craving more. It's rare to find a deli that excels not only in savory options but also in the realm of desserts. In conclusion, this local deli has earned its five-star rating through a combination of exceptional food, welcoming ambiance, and outstanding service. Whether you're a regular looking for your go-to deli fix or a newcomer eager to explore a world of culinary delights, this establishment is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and savor more of their mouthwatering offerings!“
“I’ve been to this restaurant three times. And every time that I have went, the food and service have been amazing. I’m reading the reviews about people complaining about them being pricey, but you are paying for quality. If you want high-quality Peruvian food, this is the place to go to.When my husband and I entered the restaurant, they greeted us and sat us down. They gave us a complimentary fish shot aka “caldo de pescado.” The shot was very delicious. It was not an alcoholic shot. It is a fish soup shot, but it reminds me a lot of the ceviche taste. My husband ordered the Pollo Saltado, and I ordered the shrimp chaufa and the classic ceviche “leche de Tigre” cocktail. I am Peruvian and know what ceviche should taste like. And the ceviche was by far the best ceviche I’ve ever had. If you are a ceviche fanatic like me, you need to try each one of them on a separate occasion. They have a variety of different ceviche dishes. My husband loved his Pollo Saltado. He really enjoyed the two hot sauces.I ordered the shrimp chaufa, and it had a lot of shrimp. It was delicious and I would like to try the other chaufas with different protein.I have tried the Trio Criollo and it’s my favorite dish. It’s has papa la huancaina, arroz verde, pollo a la brasa and ceviche. Get this! I highly recommend.Anyway, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a very good choice.“
“They are really excellent, the food is very good, the service is very excellent, a very good place to go to eat, it is quiet and it is very cheap. The only problem is that they do not prepare any type of cocktail, no alcohol, perhaps that is why not many people go, but apart from that That's why the service is first class....“
“Really cool, hip spot in Caldwell for good Peruvian food. Our server knew exactly what to recommend as well when we asked about the specials, entrees, and appetizers. We had ceviche as a appetizer as well as some Maduros and they were quite tasty. I really enjoyed my main entree which was a Mofongo saltado which adds a nice Dominican fusion/flair to it. For dessert I went with the flan and espresso and I feel like you can't go wrong with that choice. My friends had the tres leches and they mentioned it was super tasty too. Not too many seats in the restaurant so make sure to call ahead and make a reservation.“
“Very good food! All very well. I loved the huancaina noodles with loin. Come quick and try their amazing food!Parking: Parking is good but I didn't know there was parking in the back.Kid-friendliness: My daughter loves this restaurant. They gave him a puzzle!“
“After a day of thrifting, I looked up best restaurants near my location, and stumbled upon this incredible restaurant. It’s no frills, but truly incredible food and service. The staff were so kind and ensured we had everything we needed. My table ordered theceviche, lomo saltado, and some sausage and potato appetizers.Great price point, and a little gem in Paterson. Support this women owned business !! Can’t wait to head back“
“There are many Peruvian restaurants but Julia’s Cafe is one of my newest favorite Peruvian food in town. The food is definitely authentically made by a Peruvian cook that understands the passion of culinary through Peruvian cuisine. Even down to sauces and spices you can taste some authenticity. We often get catering when we have a get-together or a birthday and they often times accept despite not having delivery drivers sometimes. I’m grateful for the owner and his service and for food. Everyone should give them a try and have a taste for themselves. ??“
“In a town with a thousand Peruvian restaurants.. la casa de ceviche is one to check out! Went there late for dinner on a Sunday. Ordered shrimp chaufa and chicken chaufa and both were very delicious. For $19-22 a plate, the serving size did not disappoint. The waitress did not understand English but the menu has both Spanish and English.10/10 would recommend trying.Que rico, gracias!“
“A friend and I stopped by after driving for hours looking at apartments. We were just hungry and desperate for good food. Divina Frontera exceeded any expectations we had. We came around 6-7pm and everything we ordered (which was a lot) still came out fresh and delicious. I must say one of the things I’m most excited about moving to Elizabeth is being close to this gem.“
“First of all, the attention to some, the very kind lady waited for us because it was almost time to saw but the atmosphere was good vibes, for example the music, the food was very delicious, the airport, the magician's candy, the acevichado sushi, ufff, I have to return the acevichado maqui, I said sushi for They knit it for you, but one is Peruvian, it turns out that it's your za but recommended your guy Y7it?“
“A splendid place to eat with your family. The food here is filling as well as being well prepared, food can take as long as 15-30 minutes to complete on a busy day but the wait is worth it. The service is equally as great as the cousine. I would highly recommend anyone to come “
“The food is excellent, I ordered a personal size Ceviche (Ceviche d Pescado). The seasoning was very good and the ceviche was just right. (the fish was super fresh). The establishment clean and pleasant. But Belkis' service was excellent. (Very cordial and gentle) super professional. Thank you so much . Recommended! Overall ☆☆☆☆☆ +Alex.“
“First time trying Peruvian food and it didnt fail me ❤️We ordered , lomo saltado , jalea and cevichewhen the food arrived ,our expectations continue to be exceeded.Every bit of our meal was scrumptiously satisfyingThe lomo saltado was cooked perfectly and the flavor tantalizes my tastebuds .Jalea contained abundant seafood that was almost too good to stop eating whileCeviche was also in generous portion , there was a perfect balance of fish and other fresh ingredients and spice ..i love mine extra picanteOver all the food and service was superb !!!Will definitely come back !“
“I loved this place. Excellent food and good service. My only issue is that the atmosphere could be a little more cozy. I only went in because it was highly recommended, but perhaps if it hadn't been that way, I probably wouldn't have gone in.Parking: Parking is small but free.“
“Great restaurant and atmosphere, the food was very delicious and to its perfection. Abel our waiter was so welcoming and very professional. He gave us options in regards to menu options and would highly recommend to anyone around the area. Will definetely come back for the food and drinks ?“
“We have been to the cheapest to the highest class Peruvian restaurants. We have never been charged, much less $5, for the little bowl of corn nuts (cancha) you get at every Peruvian restaurant in America. To sum it up, I brought six people, spent over $200 and they felt I needed to pay $5 for something that is free at 98% of restaurants. You also get six fries/potatoes in your lomo, so be ready for that.“
“It is a small place but very cozy, it has a wide Colombian menu, I ordered the tripe and I really liked it, they have a menu for children, do not miss this experience since it is not a spicy food Low in salt, the rice has that garlic flavor and onion reminds us of the homemade “
“Overall young chef and team they do a great job with service and establishment is really nice and clean. Only reason why I give you 4 stars it’s 16.62 for a small plate that barely had any mean although it tasted wonderful. Also rice was hard seemed like it was being switched but for a surprise visit good job.“
“The food is amazing I had the chicken fried rice and it’s amazing. The waiters are very nice and they are there to help with your every need. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and would recommend.Parking: There is a lot of parking in the back of the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp.“
“Stopped in Sunday for a late lunch. Place was busy but I was able to be seated within minutes. This place is a hidden gem when it comes to Peruvian food! Especially their seafood dishes. Fresh and packed with flavors. Portions are generous and priced reasonably. Highly recommend trying it out.“
“I built a core memory today, the day I found the best Peruvian Food in New Jersey. WOW! My expectations have been met and exceeded. The Chaufa was so good and such a large portion they clearly price the food knowing they are going to sell out. The ceviche mixto was amazing perfect lime and spicy level… I’ve always had to add lime or salt from other ceviches but not this one.The filete de pescado was perfectly cooked. Overall I’m excited to try the other dishes they offer I know I will not be disappointed.“
“I have returned after a certain time and I have to say:EXQUISITE FOOD.CAREFUL AND VERY ATTENTION ATTENTION.REASONABLE PRICES.THE ENVIRONMENT VERY NICE AND COZY.CONTINUE LIKE THIS!!!I have returned after a certain time and I have to say:EXQUISITE FOOD.CAREFUL AND VERY ATTENTION ATTENTION.REASONABLE PRICES.THE ENVIRONMENT VERY NICE AND COZY.CONTINUE LIKE THIS!!!“
“So I would say food is good, service is great overall. Just a heads up: when ordering online for take out, the sauces they give are almost not even filled up and more watery consistency. It used to be creamy. It was not like this before, dont know why they changed it. Unlike when you eat in, the same sauces are actually better ??♀️“
“This place has some of the best chaufa in the area and other menu items are equally as good. Its a small restaurant so if you are a larger group it would probably be best to get takeout (we always do). If you're looking for peruvian-chinese fusion you will NOT be disappointed.“
“Coming from a music artist, this restaurant is truly my favorite restaurant. Good place to sit, eat, and think. The food and service is amazing. Affordable prices, very good. Really good Peruvian Restaurant in my opinion. 10/10 restaurant, no doubt about it.“
“I couldn’t believe when I saw it about this restaurant selling my typical food from my town in Perú!!! I have been looking for so long a restaurant that will sell my jungle dishes from my town in Perú.If you haven’t tried authentic jungle food you got to try this place, is small place has few seating inside but food is delicious!!! I got Juanes, tacacho mixed with bits of fried pork skin, humitas saladas, arroz chaufa and papa a la huancaina (the last two dishes are typical Peruvian dishes)Also they have aguaje ice creams, cocona drinks and uvachados (exotic drink) delicious!!I’m definitely coming back to eat more of my favorite dishes!!!!“
“I had a creamy Shrimp Soup that was loaded with veggies it was delicious. The service was good and they have lunch specials. I have to go back and try one cause everything coming out of the kitchen looked AMAZING!!!! Get up and go get you some“
“I walked in on a whim and was greeted with open arms and an education into what Peruvian food is traditionally and how fantastic it is. There were so many possible options that I couldn't decide. I ended up with the ceviche combo plate, and wow! I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.“
“We ordered for delivery via one of the food delivery apps. The food was fresh, yummy! The Caldo de Gallina (Hen Soup) was the reason why we ordered here today. We were hungover and the soup got us up and about! The chaufa de pollo was homemade low salt but paired with the aji verde and it was great! The Seco de carne was really really good! I’d order from here again.“
“Delicious Peruvian food done well! Flavorful, but not too-hot spice. Big shrimp, generous portions. Tallarin verde (pesto sauce spaghetti) was good for the kids to share. Anticuchos were perfect (followed waitress's advice for medium well), as was the yuca a la huancaina, and chupe de “
“This beautiful small cozy Peruvian restaurant has Real Authentic Peruvian dishes that you cannot replicate anywhere else. The owners were super cordial and kind. Excellent conversation starters while respecting your space while eating. The food was phenomenal and the portions are super reasonable and enough to fill even 2 people. Will be back again for sure, thank you Mrs. Rosita ?✨“
“I just went to check out the atmosphere inside. And it was very impressive what they did to the place. They really take care of the people that go there. I didn't stay for the late night activities that really start booming around 10 pm. But living close by I hear the music pumping and hear the people having a great time.“
“Loved this restaurant!! The food was AMAZING, from the empanadas, to the mofongo, to the tres leches! We had a large table (9) and everyone absolutely loved their meal. The portions are big, which was great for the price. The ambiance was also great, as they played great music. They also put the birthday girl's picture on the menu he which I thought was such a nice touch. The service was as phenomenal, our waitress was patient and super sweet! I will definitely return soon. Restaurant is small, so I suggest making a reservation if it's more than 2 people.“
“Wowwww I was surprised by the taste and size of the dishes here at this place. It is a bakery where it serves breakfast but also lunches and main dishes of Peruvian cuisine. They have dishes from 12 or 15 dollars onwards and in the bakery you can eat a sandwich for 8 dollars. Their menu is well stocked although physical space is limited and you have to find parking but I think these are normal things for a small place. But its flavor and service are worth it to visit it.“
“(Translated by Google) The food is very good, the attention takes time, the food arrives and then the cutlery, plastic cups. They forget the drink. Of course, they do not forget to charge themselves and include the tip in the total.(Original)La comida muy buena, la atención tarda, llega la comida y los cubiertos luego, vasos plásticos. Olvidan la bebida. Eso sí no olvidan cobrarse he incluir la propina en el total.“
“This was my first Peruvian Chinese experience, and honestly, I'm not sure if I can ever go back to normal Chinese food. These guys are just operating on a totally different level, and even though it's far away from me, I can't wait to get back there. The Peruvian Lomain is on a different level. The cuts of meat are so generous and tender. And the portions are very large. But the thing that blew me away now than anything was the Wonton Soup, easily and by far the best Wonton Soup I have ever had. The cuts of Pork are massive, and the stewed Cabbage adds depth to the dish, I also like that the Wontons are so meaty and tasty. If you have never tried Peruvian Chinese food, then you absolutely have to come here, You just have to try it.“
“Excellent restaurant! Glad they were able to rebuild mid last year. Have been coming here for years; always great…generally get the daily menu. Sitting area is not huge; parking on side is generally available. Always futball (soccer) on TV. Service is friendly…looks like the son has taken over after his parents or at least is more enagaged…definitelly starting to modernize…but food is ?.“
“My family and I love coming here on sundays! The food is very delicious, it has a mixture or all types of Latin American dishes. My favorite is the Mofongo de pollo. It comes in a creamy mushroom sauce (I included the picture of what was barely remaining). But we also love to get the Jalea which is not in their updated menu. I did call to ask about that specifically because we ordered take out. Had a bit of a problem with my order but they were able to help me and fixed my order.“
“I took my family here for the first time and we enjoyed every aspect of this place, the service and the food was definitely top quality and for a super fair price. The atmosphere is more of a comfy mom and pop style restaurant which I prefer to be honest and we will be recommending this place to anyone who wants to try amazing peruvian food!Kid-friendliness: My kids are a handful and the staff was always patient, kind, and caring of their needs.“
“This is one of the eateries I visit when in town. Although I don’t live in Paterson anymore Paterson hands down has some of the best food. The food here is always worth it, I always have leftovers.Pros: Reasonable pricing, large portion sizes and the food is consistently delicious.Cons: Parking is crappy, it’s meter parking and all the parking spots are always taken.Parking: Don’t double park it’s dangerous because cars like to fly down the street and officers are out to give tickets.“
“What I didn't like is that in the payment ticket they charge you a tip of 7 dollars and I believe that a tip is voluntary if I want I give it as long as I have good attention and service and I don't give it if I don't have good attention and service because they have to demand the tip from you, that is terrible for restaurants.“
“Pleasant atmosphere, home-made restaurant but very rich preparation of the meals. In the drinks (chicha and barley) it could improve, since it feels like they are "from a sachet", but I understand that it is because in the US there is no PURPLE CORN from Peru with which the Delicious Chicha Morada is prepared (Original from Peru ).Everything else EXCELLENT, very good seasoning“
“The food was artistically presented and delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance casual yet classy. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves in terms of the absolute artistry this place has in presentation of its delicious food.“
